As one of the greatest of Norse Goddesses, Frejya is as beautiful as she is powerful. Being a master of Seidr (the magic of foreseeing the future) allowed her to gain wealth and more importantly, knowledge and therefore great importance in the Norse World.
As befits a goddess of her power, Freyja was given the right to collect half of all the warriors slain in battle to reside with her in her home of Flokvangr (Field of the People), the other half are taken by the Valkyrie to Oden's Hall of Valhalla.
With her twin brother Freya and father Njord, she influences the lives of the Gods, Giants and Men, mostly for the better. Her prowess in warfare made her especially popular to the warriors of the Norse lands. Her cloak of feathers allows her to speed through the lands bringing her unit talents to those in need or want.
Love (or lust) is used to manipulate the actions of males, regardless of race, by Freyja almost at whim as a means to gain power and her deepest wants. So free was she with her desires that gods, giants, humans and even dwarves (who gave her the stunning necklace Brisingamen) were snared by her beauty. This was a bit much even for the trickster Loki who thought she was loo lose with her sexual favors as he said in one of his poems.
Be silent, Freyja! For Fully I know thee,
Sinless thou art not thyself:
Of the gods and elves who are gathered here,
Each on as thy lover has lain.
None of this bothers Frejya, her power is hers to yield as she like, until the time of Ragnarök that is.
Freyja is a large plastic piece that I painted this week.
