I'll Trade You Two of My Heads-For One of Yours

Grand Litch Sanguis Vita-Repetit is always looking for fresh heads to use in his foul magiks.

For only by taking fresh life can he reanimate the hordes of undead he needs for his wars of conquest.
So beware of his offer, for once he has your head a part of his undead army you may become.
This is an old 1970's metal casting that I just painted today.

Kill a Light Tank or Snipe a Soldier-use Your ATR

Taking aim on a lightly armored vehicle, this Afrika Korps anti-tank Rifle team (ATR), has an excellent chance to take the APC out if action. Alternatively, the range and killing power of the ATR makes it a deadly snipers' weapon in the hand of a good marksman.
Ranging in size from 7.9 mm to 20mm (.311 to .787 inches), the ATR was a standard weapon in most armies at the start of the 2nd World War, the US Army being a notable exception. The constantly increasing thickness of tank armor quickly made ATRs obsolete in their anti-tank role. But they continued to be used by some troops till the end of the war.

This is a scratch-built unit that I made and painted in 2021.

When Luke Cage is Here the Streets are Safe

Superhero Luke Cage (aka Carl Lucas) gained his strength and bulletproof skin through scientific experiments.

Having been falsely accused of a crime, he volunteered to take a version of the "Super Soldier" serum.
The experiments gave him the powers he now uses to protect those that need it the most, on the meanest city streets.
Those in need get his aid and those who take advantage of others pay the price of his vengeance.
Luke Cage is a Crisis Protocol plastic figure I painted this week.

One Drunks Drunk Partner

Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is the head of Prince Rprt Drnkr of Terre de Betes (World Historyprof: I Will Be King "Hic") household guards.
It is said that likes attract, and in this case, it really is true, as Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is just as heavy a drinker as his master.

But that is of no concern to the rest of the kingdom, for as long as these to wastrels hit the bottle the throne of Queen Pmkn ZZbl is safe.
Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is a 20mm (3/4 inch) tall plastic piece I recently painted.

Squirrel Girl Fights with a Smile

Canadian Squirrel Girl (aka Doreen Allene Green) enjoys her superhero statis and tries to always fight with a smile on her lips.
As an Avenger, she uses her superhuman strength, razor claws and knuckle spikes to make an impression on her enemies.
With her added abilities of being able to regenerate wounds and communicate with squirrels (who scout for her), she is a valuable asset for her teammates.

This is a plastic kit I painted this week.

I Am Conan-the Barbarian

Conan the Barbarian, fearless warrior, feared by those who gain his ire.

He knows only fighting, loving, looting, feasting and the blunt power of brute strength.

This is a metal Ral Partha 25mm figure designed in the 1970's.

YOU Spilled My Beer-Better You Spilled Blood-YOURS

Rarely in a good mood in the best of times, Dark Elf Deathdeallers team Captain Onna Mnn Wtcch really loses it when she's pissed.
And nothing hits her explosion button faster than someone messing with her booze! Doubly so when it happens during a Blood Bowl match.
If looks could kill...well you know what I mean. So, save yourself some grief, and a lot of blood, don't mess with Captain Onna Wtcch's beer!

You Can Never Have Enough Bookcases

Time to add bookcase for paints, figures, terrain, reference books, books of rules, history books and of course lots of books. So, load up and move the painting table. Take down my paintings (Christmas in July is over anyway) and start laying in shelves.

Nice thing about building shelves is that you have convenient storage for your tools as your building.

The 7 shelves are 85 in (215.9 cm) wide, 8 in (20.32 cm) deep and the ceiling is 8 ft (243.85cm) high. Ready for last touching up painting.
He come the first of many, many books.

Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

As its name implies, "Blood Bowl" is a violent sport with conflict, blood, dirty plays and lots of "Rumbling" in every match.

And no one "Rumbles" better than the Skaven Ratmen of team Rkke.
They especially enjoy the nastiest dirty tricks they can think up!
So be warned, when it's time to Rumble beware for the Skaven are sharpening their knives, claws and teeth. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
These are all plastic pieces that I painted earlier this month for Richards Blood Bowl Campaign.

The Emperors Guard of Mars

When humans landed on Mars in 1889, they found many kingdoms, city states, "Barbarian" tribes and one "Emperor of Mars." While the Emperor Sansh Tilican CMLIX is not the most powerful ruler on the planet, he is the "EMPEROR."

As Emperor, Sansh Tilican CMLIX has at his command the most famous and elitest military unit on the planet-"The Emperors Guard."
Few in number, but high in experience, social status and dedication, the Emperors Guard maintains the glory of the vast Imperial Armies of the distant past.
While the weapons and armor appear archaic, they are actual made of immensely strong metals (the formula for which was lost centuries in the past) that can slice through steel like butter and even resist most Earth designed firearms.
These features, coupled with their mystic, enhance their value in combat way beyond their small numbers.
When the horn of The Emperors Guard sounds, Martians can or will ignore....
These are old metal 1970's, models that I painted for "Space 1889."

Specialist Tools for Conquering a Colony

News from the front: navy shore parties are landing with powerful weapons to subdue the current colonial revolt in Asia. With this added firepower our "Old Tars" will make short work of the poorly armed natives.

Such was one of the countless headlines of colonial conquests of the 19th century.

When your country wants a new colony currently run by natives, make sure your line troops have the latest specialist weapons like these machineguns.
To the right is the old "reliable" .45 cal. Gatling Gun (with the new brass cartridges that are less prone to jamming).
To the left, we have the new M1895 Colt-Browning 6mm (.236 inch) gas operated Machinegun.

With these weapons any expedition would have a strong advantage against the common native forces to be expected in the era.
The Colt was eventually chambered for many more modern rounds, including the 30.06 and 7.62mm. Even though it was very dated, the Colt even saw limited action in the Second World War. Through countless redesigns, modifications and moderation's the Gattling design is still used to this day by the three major branches of the US (and most Allies) military.
These are all metal pieces from a variety of manufacture's that I painted in the 1980's for my 19th century colonial and Space 1889 armies.
