Blast from the Past - "Captain Mimi Rouge" (1 August 2011)

14 years ago, I introduced pirate Capt.. Mimi Rouge and her background story:

  Captain Mimi Rouge, while a tough leader, she is very generous in sharing her treasures with her crew. In a strange contrast the crew has also noticed that the captains temperament is sweet towards her crew but vicious and bloodthirsty towards her enemies.

 Her constant companion is the brightly colored Peppy. The crew believes that he is a good luck charm as neither he nor his master has ever been felled in battle. Her ability to "turn" what would appear to be serious or fatal wounds in combat is legendary. But perhaps the captains good luck and seeming invulnerability owes is its roots to some other means...

 Captain Rouge is careful not to let her true nature be known to but a few well-chosen companions.

 Those she trusts are allowed to see her as she truly is-the half-blood daughter of the most famous count of Transylvania.

 Her half-blood nature gives her the strength of her ancestor with the ability to travel in the both the worlds of day and night. Her crew is also lucky that Mimi's need for blood is less demanding than that of her sire.

 Captain Rouge is the metal 28mm piece Captian Sophie, Succubus from Reaper Figures. She is the new captain for the Black Pearl II (see "Did You Say Pirates" April 2010).

Sabretooth or Fang Face

Ugldth is a Sabretooth Pug with a super bad attitude.

All Sabretooth's are dangerous trained killers, but Ugldth is just plain mean and has a lust for fresh blood!

When his blood lust is up any creature in his eyes is prey, even those who raised and trained him.

Ugldth is a plastic piece I painted this month.

Introducing the Pug Terrore Dentes, "Bitterbit."

Nicknamed the "Sabertooth Pug." Terrore Dentes have been breed specifically to slash and tear the enemies of their warrior masters.

This is a plastic piece I painted earlier this month.

When Yeti's Angry-RUN AWAY

Fur, teeth, claws, and 202 kg of raging Yeti is not a sight anyone wants to witness in person.

Normally docile, Yeti's are slow to anger, but when they are, beware. 

They will not stop until they are sure the danger to them and there's is over.

The best way to see a raging Yeti, from behind.

So stay safe, avoid angry Yeti's and live another day.

They Don't Call it Blood Bowl for Nothing

Ready to literally cut up the opposition, this group of Skaven Gutter Runners will give their all for the glory of the team and to win the coveted "Skaven Bowl Trophy."

As Blood Bowl is a largely no holds banned "game," the ratmen go at it with teeth, claws and blades! So let the games begin...

These are all plastic pieces, for are from Games Workshop with the lone different figure from Reaper. I painted them this week for Richard's Blood Bowl Team.

Captain Mimi Rouge,  and "Peppy," want to wish you all a Happy Halloween. As the half blood daughter of Transylvania most infamous "Count," it is the Captains favorite holiday.  So enjoy, and may you only have wonderful treats and no tricks-this year.

Message Runner

Tosa Hidosa carries a critical message for his Lord.

Perhaps it will give the orders to win a battle or maybe it is just a shopping list... no matter Tosa will not fail in his mission.

Two Bladed Fighter

Blár Panther, mercenary-pit fighter trusts his two power blades to solve any problems he faces.

Augmented by his massive strength, Blár's blades have carved him out of many a difficult situation.

The last sight many an enemy has ever seen, the business end of one of Blár's blades.

Zulus Looking for more Victims

After the early victories over the British in the opening battles of the Zulu War, a band of scouts look for more stragglers to bloody their weapons.

Wearing the looted jacket of an unfortunate soldier of the 24th regiment, this warrior takes aim with his captured Martini-Henry on his next victim.

Soon the British will counter attack with over-welming force, but for now the taste of victory is strong in the mouths of these hardened warriors.

All are 30mm metal pieces from Reaper.

Zulu!

Two warriors of the umCijo ("the Sharp Pointed") Regiment scout on the frontier of the Zulu - Natal border  in 1879.  The center warrior proudly displays his British Martini-Henry breech loading rifle that he captured in battle.

The umCijo were in the spearhead of the attack on the British camp at Isandlwana destroying the Natal Natives, and companies A and F of the 24th Foot.

In close support is a warrior in a captured jacket of the Natal Mounted Police firing another British Martini-Henry Rifle.

The umCijo was one of the most active Zulu regiments in the Zulu War as they were also involved in the battles of Kambula and  Gingindlovu, before being destroyed at Ulundi.

Pirate Beauty

Brightiis Lightsinger readies to set sail on a captured Orc raft, little does she know what the fates have in store for her.

For after a short voyage Brightiis Lightsinger comes under the scrutiny of the pool beauty Michelle.

After a humours exchange, Brightiis Lightsinger is allowed to continue her adventures as Michelle returns to her fun in the pool and sun.

Brightiis Lightsinger is a 30mm metal piece from Reaper, the Orc raft is scratch built and Michelle is our wonderful daughter.

Tree warriors of the great Zulu nation make ready for their next adventure.

These metal pieces are large 30mm pieces from the Chronoscope range from Reaper miniatures.

Even Captains need cabin girls

Captain Mimi Rouge has special responsibilities as leader of a bloodthirsty crew of pirates so she relies on a trio of cabin girls to meet her daily needs of life at sea. Sophie, Leah and Viola are capable and loyal retainers.

With her trusty companion Peppy always at her side, Captain Rouge relies on her girls to keep Peppy preened, fed and happy. Sophie has a special connection with Peppy and is his favorite handler.

All three girls were rescued from slave ships, and Captain Rouge trusts them unconditionally, she knows they would fight to the death for her.

Captain Mimi Rouge is from Reaper, Sophie and Viola are from Warlord and Leah is from Ral Partha, all are metal. Leah is 25mm scale the rest are 28mm.
