Attack of the Red Devils

News from the front Fall 1944, somewhere in Northern Europe and our brave photographer, Dan D. Shurshot sends us pictures of the famous "Red Devil' (aka 1st Parachute Division) in action.

Here a section of Red Devils charge headlong into battle.

They are given covering fire by a team using a captured Maschinengewehr 34 (Machine gun 34).
When they meet enemy armour it's time for the Projectial Infantry Anti-Tank (PIAT) team to lend a hand.

The Bren Gun LMG team sprints forward to give even more fire support to the attack.
All the while a sniper team checks their comrades "6" for any hostiles.

All are plastic pieces that I pained in June 2018.

And here is an actual 1944 photo of a Red Devils PIAT Team during Operation Market Garden.

My, My What a Big Sword-umm Ears You Have

Theseus feels something strange is going on, like where is 1st Mate Ios? All the while the Sorceress Ciere is checking out her latest meal on four feet; men can be such pigs. Dinner just rebalances the many wrongs men have done to women is Ciere's feeling.
Ciere wonders what size of a pig the warrior with the big sword will turn into-and how juicy!
Both are plastic pieces that I painted in 2018.

USMC Fire Team

The standard fire team for much of the pre-war and World War Two USMC doctrine was based on four men.
The fire team leader was armed with a Submachinegun (SMG) usually the .45 cal. Tompson (The Tommy Gun of Roaring "20's fame.).
The 30.06 Browning Automatic Rifle BAR was the team's heavy hitter.
The other two men were armed with rifles, the bolt action 30.06 Springfield in the early years and the M-1 Garand in the later years.
With these weapons, a USMC fire team brought a lot of firepower to each engagement.
These are plastic pieces I painted for my Bolt Action Pacific Campaign in 2018.

Ben Gun-Firepower on the Move

At the run, a two-man British paratrooper Bren Gun team race to the next firing position to support their comrades advance after an early morning drop behind enemy lines.
A reliable and popular squad weapon, the Bren gun was a staple of the British Army through much of the Mid 20th century.

These are plastic pieces I painted in 2018.

Hunt Monsters Will Travel

Captain Hamilton Smyths-Smyth, Professional Monster Hunter Extraordinaire (PMHE), specializes in big dangerous and furry beasties that prey on human flesh. This is very hazardous work, so the good captain has a variety of specialized weapons. Sliver tipped sword and hunting knife, coated with holy oil of course, .40 cal, LeMat revolver with additional 20-gauge barrel, and a pocket four-barrel derringer that are all carried in a variety of holsters, sheaths and pouches.

But his favorite weapon is also his most powerful, his specialized Remmington-Holland and Holland Multi-barrel .50 cal. Machine Rifle Mrk VII. The Remmington-Holland and Holland Multi-Barrel .50 cal. Machine Rifle Mrk VII fires a mix of silver, explosive, acid filled and armour piercing rounds. Needless to say, all his weapons and ammo are blessed by his "very good" friend The Most Reverend Ima Verally Holee, Archbishop of Canterbury. As an added precaution all his bullets have crosses carved into their tips.

For protection he, of course, has the standard Silver Cross, silver plated iron helmet lining, neck guard and winter hunting jacket plates. His fur lining and coat is also infused with wolfbane oil, as it never hurts to be careful. As Captain Hamilton Smyths-Smyth is fond of saying, "Being a PMHE stalking all sorts of Beasts, Unnatural Creatures, Undead and other Foul Things is a dangerous hobby-so be prepared for the unexpected." "And Have Fun!"
Captain Hamilton Smyths-Smyth is a plastic piece that I painted in the Summer of 2018.

Music to Kill the Savage Beast or Man

After the untimely death of her abusive husband Winslow, the Widow Wisty Widshipp has spent her time removing monsters from Empress Victoria's capital city with her "Victrola of Soul Rendering" (V.S.R.patent pending). Many threatened or abused women and children owe their very lives to Widow Widshipp's deadly V.S.R. Those of pure heart and soul need not fear for the V.S.R. has no effect on men who are not beasts.

Widow Widshipp is a plastic piece I painted back in June of 2018 for our Rise of Mologh Game.

Call Me Odysseus or Ulysses, it Matters Not Now You DIE!

Never known for a calm deminer, Odysseus takes aim on those who have wrong him, his wife and family. Known for his actions in the Trojan War, his Odessey returning to his kingdom of Ithica and his brutal slaying of his wife's tormentor's, Odysseus (Ulysses to the Romans) is one of the most famous of the King heroes of Ancient Greek Myths.
Odysseus is a plastic piece I painted in July 2018.

Warlords Guard - Pre-War China

During the early 20th century much of China was under the control of Warlords. This is one of the platoons of a Warlord personal guard.
They are armed with the latest weapons, German style uniforms & equipment. Even their training is European in technique by German World War One veteran mercenaries.
These are kit bashed plastic pieces that I painted in 2018.

Captain Hamilton Smyths-Smyth Goes Hunting, for Monsters

The Tart and the Warrior-Maiden, Professionals Both

Dame de la Soiree, Anise de la Lune and Kriegerin Ingrid von Mord are different in lifestyle as night is to day. Both are experts in their chosen fields, enjoy their professions and would never wish to trade places with the other. Neither cares that detractors call one a "Tart,' and the other "a girl acting as a man."

They know that for every detractor there are hundreds of admirers. For Anise is renowned for her dancing, singing and 'personal skills. While Ingrid, with her mechanical battle feline Uhrwerk, is known as the "Wilder-Krieger Valkyrie."

Both are plastic pieces from the World of Smog that I painted back in 2018.

Peek A Boo, Eye See You!

Baronne Menace Cachee is much, much more than she seems. For that unfortunate enough to anger her the last thing they see is her alternate self Monstrecalamar whose four eyes have been watching for future meals...

Her meal completed, Baronne Menace Cachee wanders slowly back to her estate, until she feels he need to show off again.

Baronne Menace Cachee is a plastic piece I painted back in June, 2018.

Watch Me Pull a Rabbi...Skull Out of My Hat

Some Magic is very dangerous...

"I have a surprise for you my little lady," says a voice from Homme-Sanstet de Magicien.
"Suprendre, I can pull my Skull from my Hat!" "Suprise right back to you, as I have a great big pistol loaded with blessed silver bullets," says Cloche Bleue, Comtess de Chasser de Monsters. "Shall I see if you can dodge them?"

Both the Comtess and Magicien are plastic pieces from Rise of Mologh that I painted in 2018, for the campaign with Richard and Thomas.

Few are safe when the Wolfpack is on the hunt. Black Pelt is the Alpha Wolf and is quite fearless.

"Aqua Warrior-has Machinegun-will Dive"

After losing his legs, and command, in a tragic underwater explosion (during a secret mission now disavowed by the government), Commander Moran designed mechanical replacements as well as a fully armored aqua suit. Now armored and armed, with a water-cooled machinegun of course, he has become the supreme Aqua-Warrior. Now he hires out to the highest bidder with his motto "Aqua-Warrior-has Machinegun-will Dive," wire Moran, Devils Triangle Roost, Plymouth.

The Aqua -Warrior is a plastic piece I painted in 2018.

Not All Werewolves Are Bad

Sir Regenald B. Furie makes a trusted and powerful bodyguard for Dutchess Victoria I. Bknot.  Regenald (Amarus to his friends), being a lycanthrope, is especially good at sniffing out dangers, especially when the Dutchess is following her passion of daemon hunting.
Amarus (Bitter) and the Duchess are plastic pieces from Rise of Mologh that I painted in 2018.

Be It Land, Sea, Jungle or Volcanic Rock, the SNLF is Ready

The Special Naval Landing Force (SNLF) was an elite unit of the Japanese Imperial Navy during the Second Sino Japanese War and World War Two.

From China to the South Pacific the SNLF was involved in every type of combat in any type of terrain.

These are plastic pieces that I painted in 2018 for my Bolt Action Pacific Forces.
