I Am Not a Cockatrice, I am Oiseau Mécanique

Oiseau Mécanique is the first cybernétique creation of the Kingdom of Terre de Betes. Being a creature of metal, science, flesh and magic, Oiseau Mécanique is often mistaken for the dreaded cockatrice and avoided by the citizens of Terre de Betes.

His enhanced strength and agility, make Oiseau Mécanique a unique asset for the growing strength of Queen Pmkn Zzbl II army. A Military that is being hard pressed at the frontiers by forces of Orcs, Undead and Barbadians. If the experiment that is Oiseau Mécanique succeeds many more volunteers are ready to undergo the transformation into members of the Armée Mécanique.

Oiseau Mécanique is a small 18mm (.7 inch) plastic piece I painted in February.

This "Furball" Makes Weapons

Arma Faberferrarius is the Master Weaponsmith of the Kingdom of Terre de Betes

Among his friends he is called "Reno-Pila Armipotens" (Furball Weaponsmith" or Renpil for short.

While his weapons lack magic powers, they are infused with both "Cold Iron and Silver" to deal with pesky undead and werebeasts.

Renpil is one of the most important Craftmasters of the Feline Familia of Terra de Betes. Although only a few know that he is actually a "Fitz Royal of Queen Pmkn Zzbl II, a fact that neither is want to be generally known.

Renpil is a plastic piece I painted in late January.

One Drunks Drunk Partner

 

Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is the head of Prince Rprt Drnkr of Terre de Betes (World Historyprof: I Will Be King "Hic") household guards.

It is said that likes attract, and in this case, it really is true, as Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is just as heavy a drinker as his master.

But that is of no concern to the rest of the kingdom, for as long as these to wastrels hit the bottle the throne of Queen Pmkn ZZbl is safe. 

Sir Xss-iis Jlpp is a 20mm (3/4 inch) tall plastic piece I recently painted.

Shelly and Her Dragon

Shelly Dracodomina with her latest charge Minima Caeruleum prepare for a new day of training.

Being only a few months old but already fully imprinted upon Shelly, Minima is eager to start her training.

Dragons mature slowly, so there will be lots of days, months and years of work, play & adventures instore for the two of them.

Shelly & Minima are 1980's metal from Ral Partha that I painted up this month.

Gnome Who Guards the Queen

Gnome Gimlit Stonson, Palace Guard to Queen Pmkn ZZbl of Terre de Betes, greets all visitors to the court with a smile.
 

But don't let the smile fool you, for his heart of stone will buck no interference to his duties.

Pandas, Who doesn't love a Panda?

With a darlin face and huggable personality, what's not to love about the Giant Panda.
 

Yet at 150+ kilos (350 lbs) and up to 1.9 meters (6ft 3in) long they are also very impressive creatures.

"Red to Black Friend of Jack-Red to Yellow Kill A Fellow" Beware the T-Rex

Nature sometimes likes to warn of dangers through color schemes, as the title rhyme suggests. Sometimes Humans can influence the coloring as well.
 

Such is the case with this DNA-Genetic engineered T-Rex whose color combo is both a warning and a colorful attractor to a future mate.

                          This T. Rex has been named "Blddthrstr" by his enemies.

Blddthrstr is a plastic model from an old Jurassic Park board game that I painted up this week.

Yeti or Abdominal Snowman, Either Way Watch Out

Straight out his mountainous home, comes a very angry Yeti, bent on revenge on those who have disturbed his land.
 

The best way to see an angry Yeti behind him were he can't see you. Then run away!

Not all the creatures of Terre de Betes are mystical, magical or tool users. Many are naturally developed "animals" such as this Greywolf (M-11)...

Albino Orangutangs-Really?

From the jungles of Terre de Betes, our brave reporter has taken this photo of the rare Albino Orangutang in his native environment. Due to their lack of color for camouflage, it is hard for albino animals to survive in the wild. But this young fellow seems to be enjoying a laugh at our reporter's expense.

I Will Be King "Hic"

Prince Rprt Drnkrd is the stepbrother of Queen Pmkn ZZbl of Terre de Betes and believes he should be the ruler not her. Luckly for the queen and her people Prince Rprt like his booze more than he wants power.
 

 Rprt is oblivious to the fact he is known throughout the kingdom for his drunken binges and weak mental capabilities.

 Yet, even in his drunk state he plots to take power and become king. But not yet, maybe after just one more bottle or two-hic or three-hic, hic, hic...

Prince Rprt is a plastic piece I painted earlier this month.

 

Corporal Chefs de Marshe carries vital supplies for the outposts of Queen Pmkn Zzbl of Terre de Betes

The lands of Terre de Betes can be dangerous, so the corporal uses his great speed to traverse the most hostile locations.

His steely determination and bravery have seen him through many tough situations as he follows his motto "The supplies MUST get through!"

This is a plastic piece I kit-bashed together and painted this week.
