Correcting a Common Mistaken Statement

 

                                 

Doctor Miguelito Quiote Loveless III is one who blames his misfortunes on the quality of his teachers for he fell into the trap of believing an old and completely incorrect statement. The infamous saying about "those who can do and those who can't teach."  The truth of the matter is- "THOSE WHO CAN DO AND THOSE WHO CAN'T BLAME THE TEACHER!"

Roman Legionaries Then and Now?

 Two sets of the backbone of Roman power, nineteen centuries apart, the dreaded Legionaries. 

1st Century C.E. One of the most feared sights on the battlefield, a unit of Roman Legionaries on the attack. With the sure knowledge that they were the best soldiers in the World, these Imperial Legionnaires fear no one.  After a flight of pilums, it's time to hit the foes with the Gladius. "Death to the enemies of the Empire, and glory for the Legion." For almost two centuries, the legionaries of Rome enforced the "Pax Romana" (Peace of Rome) a time where most of Western Europe and the countries of the Mediterranean Sea were at peace, without a major war. An accomplishment that has never been duplicated to this very day.

Before the countless hordes of "Barbarian" invaders arrived in later centuries, it was often the truth that the greatest danger to a unit of Roman legionaries was another unit of Roman legionaries due to the frequent wars between rival factions for control of the Empire.  But that is a "Post Pax Romana" time, so for now these elites of Roman rule the Euro-Mediterranean World.

1900+ years later and a new force of Roman elite warriors has appeared in the Post Great War World.
As seen in this patrol from the hidden city-state of Novum Imperium Romanum Consularis Julius Augusts XXIII (New Roman Empire of Consul Julius Augusts XXIII) which protects the Empires hidden nature. Strangers they locate are either eliminated or made slaves of the Imperium. They are armed with the latest in Roman small arms weapons technology. 

Centurion Hadrius Corfortium is armed with a Electi Parvus Sagitta Dirigentes (Elite Small Arrow Shooting i.e. heavy submachinegun). Four troopers have the Parvus Sagitta Dirigentes (Small Arrow Shooting-i.e. a Submachinegun) Two have the Gravisbus Sagitta Dirigentis (Heavy Arrow Shooting-i.e. Assualt Rifle). Stong fire support is given by a Multi Sagittam  Dirigentis (Many Arrow Shooting-i.e Light Machinegun). While for serious problems the very deadly Constantinus Ignis Iaculator (Constantin's Fire Thrower-i.e. Flame Thrower) is always ready to burn away troublesome intruders. For defense, their Galea (Helmet), Lorica Segmentata (Body Armor), and Scutum (Large Shield) are made of Sagitta Probationem Metallum ("Bullet Proof" Metal).The Signifer is not just a standard, it is also the squads Missis Aer Nutiis Acciprentis (radio Transmitter/Receiver) The insulated helmet allows two-way communication with command base. 

Soon the day will come when the Novum Imperium Romanum will make itself known and the World will again tremble under the trod of Romes Legionnaires!

We Like To Make Things Go Boom!

Some people just like to make things go boom. To them it's like every day is the 4th of July. Here are a few of these "explosive personalities:"

Piro Fryyer specializes in taking out nasty combat Warjacks in the never-ending wars in the world of Warmachines.

Ilene knows the best way to take down an enemy is with massive firepower.

Doctor Himm B. Luunny knows magic can't hold a candle to science. Especially his "Mad Explosive Rocket Science!"

"Ready, aim, explosive fire harpoon away!" yells Captain Ahhaab hero of the Empire vs the evil forces of Mologh.

                                                         

The "Professor," Walter Cavendish, is ready to demonstrate his latest electrical storm invention to those who said he could never do it-now he'll show them-he'll show them all-Baraa Haa Haaa!

Armed with his latest creation, the Atom Blaster Hand Cannon Mark IV - "the Blue Death," Dr. Butio Atomicus is ready to lay waste to those fools who said he was crazy-Ha HA HAA HAAAAA! Just because the Marks I-II and III had slight "problems" and several labs were reduced to blue rubble, is no reason to doubt his sanity or his creations power.  "Yes, the doubters will pay for their lack of faith in the GREAT DR. ATOMICUS!"

One man's "MAD SCIENCE" is just another man's scientific imagination set free such as Dr. Johon Rippinoff and his "Doom Ray." "Is this Mad he says, HA it is but a whim full filled."

"I'm no anarchist" says Rene Sprengstoff, just a hired mercenary as he readies a little "Night Music" for his latest assignment. His one rule, "I never blow-up innocents."

Undead Egyptian VP Terrain

Long lost Ancient Egyptian shields and bronze tipped spears wait to be grabbed by adventurers searching for treasures hidden in the desert sands.   

Too late will said adventurers find that these are cursed weapons that are guarded by undead warriors just waiting to be revived to take the lives of the living.  

This is a kit bashed piece of terrain that I built for an upcoming Pulp adventure.

Thuggee Planning Session.

Night on the Northwest Frontier and a cutthroat band of Thuggees is planning their next raid.

Armed with muskets, blades and strangle cords, these bandits are ready to take to the road where they will waylay and slay unwary travelers. 

Then it's back to the hideout,...

divide the spoils...

and plan for the next raid. All for the glory of the Goddess Kali.

Femme Fatales Rule the Pulp World

 

In the post Great War Pulp World of the 1920's-30's, Femme Fatales are the great movers and shakers in the countless adventures that make up the se exciting times. Here are a few of the best of these women:

Della' Morte is an expert horsewoman and a crack shot with her Colt .45 revolver. At home on any frontier, Della' is  awoman not to be treated lightly. 

Captain Sam (only a fool would call her Samantha) Bogsdaughter is a tough sea tug skipper and the first to say she is no lady-She's a Captain! She prefers a blade and club in a fight, but when things get rough, out comes her trust .45 Peacemaker.

Lady Helga von Bergjäger, Special Agent of the Kaisers Imperial Colonial Rifles. She is a woman accustomed to getting what she wants. In Africa her favorite weapons are a sharp, large-bladed machete, a sharper wit and her trusty 7.62mm Mauser with a x4 scope!  In Berlin her brains and good looks are her weapons of choice (backed up with a discrete but powerful 9mm Mauser auto pistol of course).

Lady Figly Mia Pharrow has been an outdoors woman and hunter her entire life.  She enjoys nothing more than to be living off the land with just her wits, .303 Enfield and .45 Webly.

Madame Jeanne Mortel with her favorite weapon, the new "Schmeisser" machine pistol. When she sees something she likes-she takes it-no questions asked!

Shanee Aerogal, flight adjutant officer for the 2nd Flight, the "Blood Hawks," of the United States Army Air Force Rocket Corps (USAAFRC), knows that a good offence, her .32 automatic, is the best defense.

The female assassin, deadlier than her male counterpart, and less conspicuous. After completing her deed, Ciúin Dúnmharú slips quietly away, leaving death in her wake.

All these Femme Fatales are metal and all are from Pulp Figures except Ciúin Dúnmharú, she's from Ral Partha.
