When Ambulan Purpura Mortem decerns those of evil mind he strikes swiftly with fatal consequences. He was once the famous alchemist, Albrecht Aurum, who sold his mixtures to all who could afford his high prices. His quest to destroy evil at its source came about when a fellow alchemist took and killed Albrecht's family in an attempt to steal his greatest secrets.
After the brutal murder of his family, Albrecht disappeared for years, only to return as Ambulan Purpura Mortem a sword master and alchemist with magic powers. Now Ambulan is uniquely powered to deal with evil human and nonhuman threats to the peace of the country.
His judgement of evil comes from years of developing skills that allow him to sense the presence of evil. He then hunts and destroys the source(s).
To some he is a vigilante, but he no longer seeks vengeance, he paid that debt long ago, now his goal is to prevent others from suffering the loss of loved ones to those with evil in their hearts.
