Terrain Needs Animals Too

Here we have a variety of beasties for games.  A Panda, three pigs and five giant spiders.
Just the thing to add a little color, or possibly danger to the game table.
All are plastic, the Panda is from Safari Ltd., the pigs and spiders are from Mystic Battles, I painted all of them yesterday.

Are You My Daddy?

Mwana Waliopotea is looking for his missing father.
On day here was here with some pale "toy" with yellow hair and then he was gone...
Seeing how big he is, Waliopotea must have "king" size daddy.

Waliopotea is a plastic piece from Safari Limited that I repainted and based.  He will be the focus of an upcoming Pulp campaign along with Kubwa-Upendo (see"You did What!!!") and Tarzan.

Lonely Porter...or Not

"Where did everyone go?" thinks Kima Bawabu, a porter who has lost his safari. All alone he thinks, but...

Hungry eyes have sighted a potential meal, as mamba slowly moves into attack position.

Will Kima notice his danger in time and find his missing friends or will mamba have an early supper?
Kima is a 28mm metal piece from Foundry (I missed him when I painted the rest of the "Ivory-Treasure to Fund My Good Works") and mamba (actually an American alligator that is evidently lost in Africa) is a plastic piece from Safari Limited.

Yep, Dead-But I Kept My Gold

A pirate never wants to loose his gold, and Alt Gebeine is no different as he hold tight to his ill gotten gains. His left had hold his rusting pistol ready to protect his loot.

Well actually there is the slight difficulty that Alt is in fact dead and a pile of "old bones" but its the principle of the thing as Alt would say-if he could that is.
Alt is a plastic piece from Safari Limited and is big compared to most 28mm pieces. Even so he is quite suited as a background piece or creature feature for lots of game scenarios.

Les Femmes Pirate Stockade

Using their stockade as a temporary base the all-female crew of pirate Captain Rouge is ready for quick action.
Welcome into my parlor calls the captain.
"Woman" the stockade walls!

The cannon is crewed and ready.
Prepare to fire!
Ready a quick assualt through the sally port.
The figures are metal 28mm from Reaper and Brigade Games. The stockade is scratch built.

The Stockade

She is finished for stage one. Stage two will be to make several structures for the center that will add to the game theme being used. tents, block house, watch tower etc.

The basic look is for the post is to appear like a fort built on the quick and not designed to be a long term position. The soil is tramped with bits of grass surviving in spots. The turf of the soil in the bastions is mostly worn down and the walls are slapped together a'la Old Fort Wentworth in the classic 1939 "Northwest Passage."
Ready for any time period, the stockade stands ready to welcome the next combatants.
The Lady Charolette von Hapsburg-Stuart, Pirate Princess, is a metal 28mm piece from Brigade Games, the cannon is a plastic piece from Safari Limited.

You Did What!!!

Tarzan is shocked to learn that his friend Kubwa-Upendo has chased away the first humans Tarzan had ever seen. As they are undoubtedly lost in the jungle Tarzan now has to go l rescue them, especially the light haired one with the interesting "curves."
Tarzan is a 28mm metal piece from Foundry, Kubwa-Upendo is a plastic piece from Safari Ltd.

Where Are My New Friends?

Our playful Mangani (the giant ape species of the Tarzan series) gorilla, Kubwa-Upendo (Big-Love) is looking for his new friends that have disappeared leaving some new toys.

Kubwa-Upendo was having such a good time playing with the funny tiny pale and dark apes with no fur, then they ran away.

At least they left their new friend Kubwa-Upendo many of their play things, head coverings, sharp pointy things, boom sticks, and lots of other interesting stuff.
Kubwa-Upendo is a plastic piece for African adventures.

Where are my new friends-WIP

Our playful Mangani (the giant ape species of the Tarzan series) gorilla, Kubwa-Upendo (Big-Love) is looking for his new friends that have disappeared leaving some new toys.
This work in progress is for a selection games. I'm thinking that Kubwa-Upendo and the Tarzan from "I am the Lord of the Jungle," will be partners in most game settings.

Shhh...Be Very Very Quiet, We're Hunting Rhinos

Sir Hallerly Misaloots III is serious about his new profession as a big game hunter. He knows his prey is close and cautions his companions to silence as he studies the signs.

Evidently the prey is much closer than Sir Hallery knows and his companions have also appeared to have left some items in their hurry to be some place more healthy.

Sir Hallery is a 28mm metal peace from Foundry, the Rhino is a cake decorating piece that I repainted.

Say Hello to My "Little" Green Friend

Tersa de Naverra has a very impressive "friend," Maxilas, her pet alligator.

Maxilas was raised by Tersa de Naverra from a six inch baby to his current sixteen foot plus 1200 pound mass by a steady diet of raw flesh (including the bodies of several of Tersa's late adversaries).

Maxilas lives in the Mangrove swamps that border Tersa's Caribbean sugar plantation. He has been trained to come to her beck and call and can follow several basic commands: "Attack, Kill and Eat" being three of his favorites. Watch dogs are obviously not needed by Tersa.

Tersa de Naverra is a metal 28mm piece from Brigade Games, while Maxilas is a plastic jungle cake decoration that I repainted and based.

The "Queens Duty" must get Through

The Mage frigates have caught up with the "Queens Duty" and her escort.

The three martyr frigates head into the wind to try to close with the Mage frigates.

First blood is drawn as good shooting sinks the two lead Mage frigates "Bewitched" &, "Voodoo."

Return fire sinks two of the Imperial frigates "Temptation" & "Sacrifice,", but "Temptation" manages to set of her suicide charges destroying itself and the two lead Mage frigates "Rapture" & "Sorcery." (Luck was with the last Imperial frigate "Redemption" as while she to was in the blast radius of the exploding "Temptation" the attack dice only caused one hull hit. As all the frigates had only two hull hits before they sunk, this was a true stroke of luck as she was available for the next turn.

Pressing on, the two remaining Mage ships target the "Queens Duty," smashing round after round into her hull. But she still makes way, turning to bring the remains of her starboard battery to bear. (The Mage ships would have been smarter to finish off the damaged "Redemption,"
rather than fire at medium range at the "Queens Duty").

The last human frigate, "Redemption," tacks into the wind and closes with the two Mage ships, "Enchantment " & "Conjuration." The crew sets off the magazine charges and destroys its self and its two enemies. (The blast radius is four inches and after what happened to earlier, the Mage commander should never have kept his two remaining ships so close together).

Damaged but still under sail, the "Queens Duty" full fills her vital mission. (Throughout the game the Imperial ship won initiative which limited the better firepower of the Mage ship.)
This was just a solo test battle for the Uncharted Seas. All the pieces were resin.
