Blast from the Past - "Captain Mimi Rouge" (1 August 2011)

14 years ago, I introduced pirate Capt.. Mimi Rouge and her background story:

Captain Mimi Rouge, while a tough leader, she is very generous in sharing her treasures with her crew. In a strange contrast the crew has also noticed that the captains temperament is sweet towards her crew but vicious and bloodthirsty towards her enemies.

Her constant companion is the brightly colored Peppy. The crew believes that he is a good luck charm as neither he nor his master has ever been felled in battle. Her ability to "turn" what would appear to be serious or fatal wounds in combat is legendary. But perhaps the captains good luck and seeming invulnerability owes is its roots to some other means...
Captain Rouge is careful not to let her true nature be known to but a few well-chosen companions.
Those she trusts are allowed to see her as she truly is-the half-blood daughter of the most famous count of Transylvania.
Her half-blood nature gives her the strength of her ancestor with the ability to travel in the both the worlds of day and night. Her crew is also lucky that Mimi's need for blood is less demanding than that of her sire.
Captain Rouge is the metal 28mm piece Captian Sophie, Succubus from Reaper Figures. She is the new captain for the Black Pearl II (see "Did You Say Pirates" April 2010).

Yo Ho Ho and I'll Shoot Your Bum

Borny Bakshoot'r the pirate (son of Aorny Bakstbb'r the Highwaydwarf), drunkard and all-round tough guy, has one motto for fighting, shoot first, then second and finally stab/slash them with your cutlass. All preferably when they have their back turned.
Due to his stature, Borny finds that shooting opponents in the bum first, distracts them long enough to finish them off with his second pistol and or his cutlass. His high success rate in boarding actions has earned him the right to carry the crews battle standard, and it makes a great club too.

Borny is a metal piece from the old Games Workshop pirate dwarf line. He's another piece from my pile of unpainted figures that I decided to paint this week.

Yes, We Are Twins

Pirates Hugo and Theo Faible-Marins enjoy the looks on strangers faces when they mention that they are indeed twin brothers. The fun comes when they explain that while both are creoles, Theo is also an Albino. Then being pirates, they rob the strangers-ha, haa, haaa.
While the brothers love each other almost as much as they love being pirates, their parrots, Bouche Forte & Jamais Tranquille, can't stand each other. While this makes meals a noisy venture the birds are advantageous in pirating as they as very skillful in finding (stealing) small and valuable objects before the rest of the pirate crew can gather them up.
Hugo and Theo are old metal pieces that I painted up quickly in the 1970's, for some D&D adventure that is now long forgotten. I just recently found them in an old box of D&D figures that hasn't seen the light of day in over 40 years.

Pegleg Pytor the Pirate

The life of a pirate is full of dangers as Pytor can testify after a swivel gun took his leg off at the knee.

But this hasn't slowed down Pytors pirated adventures, as he says "challenge is the spice of life."

Pytor is an old metal piece I originally painted back in the '70's.

Pirates Have Our Own Style

Sailing Master Jean Jacque Jarden know that as a Pirate officer he has a responsibility to show flair in his clothing fashion sense. As Jean says.'really, if you can't show off your style why bother leading your sailors in a boarding action."

Where there's a Whip. there's a Way

1st Mate Emily Bakripper is an expert at motivating insolent crew by the use of her "Cat-o-Nine Tails." The "Cat" leaves a painful and permanent set of scars on exposed flesh, reminders to never cross Emily a second time. When she's in battle, or a really bad mood, she attaches three metal "Morningstar's" of spiked iron to make her displeasure more solidly felt.
Emily is a plastic piece I painted in 2015.

Aye, I Now be the Captain

When the captain "died unexpectedly" I naturally became the captain of the ship. Anyone who disagrees might also die suddenly...
The captain is a plastic game piece that I painted in 2015.

Beasties come in All Styles

Back in 2016, I came across a variety of "beasties" that I decided to paint up. Here we have on the orange and yellow bases base a female pirate captains. The red and black "Lava" bases are for Richard's Warmachine Menoth army and on the sand bases some Sci Fi / Steampunk pieces.

Beware the Deadly Lady Pirates

Never underestimate the deadly potental of the the female of the species.

A quick skirmish between female pirate raiders and a mixed batch of local milita.

First blood to the raiders.

With the loss of one raider compaired to the loss of the entire malita squad a resounding victory goes to the female pirates.
Tried out Tom's new pirate rules with this skirmish. They worked quite well. All the pieces are metal.

Follow Me My Blly Boys-and Lets Board 'Em

Ever the leader, Captain Bartolo Montador is always the first to board an enemy vessel.
The thrill of battle and prospect of looted riches (not the small chest of treasure under his left foot that he has already claimed), pushes the captain into harms way.  And does he love it!
Many an enemy has fallen to Bartolo's specially designed wrist gun.  While his foe focuses on the captains blade, a quick twist of the left hand and boom, the unseen pistol fires with deadly effect.
Captain Bartolo is a metal figure from the Pirates Mercenary range of Privateer Press.
