High Martian-High Flyer

Tala-al-Kazar-dun, chieftain of the Moon Glory Clan of High Martians searches for dangers to his people among the highland steps of the ancient planet.

Although with a less advanced technology than their low land  relatives. The ability to fly through the thin air has its compensations. 

Tala-al-Kazar-dun is a 25mm metal piece that I painted in the late 1980's.

Vessss I am a vork progressss

Vorass lizardman captain is not a beast to be trifled with, he is a texperienced warrior with a killer mentality.

Where Are My New Friends?

Our playful Mangani (the giant ape species of the Tarzan series) gorilla, Kubwa-Upendo (Big-Love) is looking for his new friends that have disappeared leaving some new toys.

Kubwa-Upendo was having such a good time playing with the funny tiny pale and dark apes with no fur, then they ran away.

At least they left their new friend Kubwa-Upendo many of their play things, head coverings, sharp pointy things, boom sticks, and lots of other interesting stuff.

Kubwa-Upendo is a plastic piece for African adventures.

I am the Lord of the Jungle

Tarzan knows no master but himself. Armed with is bow & arrows, knife, brawn and his wits, he is the Lord of the Jungle.

CSS Kentucky Battle Damage

Some after action shots of the damage from enemy cannon ball hits on the CSS Kentucky. The proof of the quality of her armor is clearly evident. Port side, aft of second gunport no penetration. Bow, port side of main gun-no penetration. Starboard, fore of first gunport two hits no penetration.

CSS Kentucky (aka Skeered A' Nothing)

The powerful CSS Kentucky (affectionately known as "Skeered A' Nothing" by her crew) puts on steam as she prepares for battle. She is the first of a new class of fast, heavily armored warships that will make the Confederate Navy the master of the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts.

The Kentucky is armed with two 9.5 inch Armstrong RML cannon on tracks that allow them to be trained two to port or starboard or one each to the bow and stern. This great savings in weapons weight allows the Kentucky to have the thickest armor (over 8 inches of iron on 24 inches of live oak on the angled casement) afloat on a ship her size.

Kentucky has a new and more powerful steam engine that allows her to reach speeds of over 15 knots (on smooth water).

Another new invention on the Kentucky is the double armored gunports, in hot actions the small swivel port (8 inches of iron thick ) opens allowing only the cannon to be exposed to enemy fire. For more long range angled fire the massive double armored gunports (10 inches of iron thick) can be opened. While reloading, the cannons are retracted behind these massive barriers.

CSS Skeered A' Nothing WIP

The CSS Skeered A' Nothing, begins as a simple casement design warship.

The initial armor deck planking is in place.

The casement is now covered with armor.

The engine vents, stack and black primer have been applied. Two guns, armored gunports,deck hatches, and bridge are all visible. Secondary gunport covers and rivets-lots of rivets have been added. How the swiveling secondary gunport works is visible on the bow cannon. Ready for painting. Last coat of black primer and first drybrush of gunmetal, pewter and silver to follow.

Ha, My AFV is Bigger than Your AFV!

Size isn't always everything but in AFV's it is a great way to intimidate your opponent.

Alexi, Dr. Nicoli Rasputkant's Marvelous Semi-floating Juggernaut is a scratch built ACV-AFV, that I built for Space 1889, but I also plan to use it in my 1920's Pulp Fiction campaign. Quebob is the 28mm metal figure Anatole, Harpooner from Reaper figures.

Dr. Nicoli Rasputkant's Marvelous Semi-floating Juggernaut, WIP

Ladies and gentlemen, behold Dr. Nicoli Rasputkant's Marvelous Semi-floating Juggernaut in its initial stages of construction. The rotating armored turret and cannon and drivers vision slots are in place. More armor, a Maxim, bolt heads and the "Marvelous Semi-floating Skirt" will be added soon.

Dr. Nicoli Rasputkant's Marvelous Semi-floating Juggernaut is a ground effects vehicle I am scratch building for my Space 1889 Campaign. Also suitable for Steampunk and Pulp Fiction.

SMLS Hagen-Armored Land Power for the Kaiser

The earliest Imperial German attempt at a Armored Land Ship is the SMLS ( Sublime Majesties Land Ship) Hagen. She is made of thick iron plating and armed with a field cannon and two of the newly invented Maxim machine guns. Twin stacks vent the heat and smoke from her steam engine. Being the first, SMSL Hagen looks somewhat crude compared to the most current designs. Crude or not she has demonstrated her worth on several fields reaping glory for the Empire. SMLS Hagen is a remodel I did of a metal Warhammer tank from GW. See the previous post "SMLS Hagen WIP".

SMLS Hagen WIP

I bought this Games Workshop Empire "tank" at a yard sell and desided to do a simple and fast conversion of it into a VSF/Space 1889/Steampunk AFV. I didn't strip off the old paint as I wanted it to look crude. Here I have added washers over the wooden wheels and as the top of the commanders cupla. It will be converted into the SMLS (Sublime Majesties Land Ship)Hagen (the killer of Siegfried). Here I have added washers over the wooden wheels and as the top of the commanders cupola. The commanders hatch and two Maxim machine guns have been added, as well as the hubs for the wheels. The initial frame for the battering ram is also visible. The base model is metal from the Warhammer Empire line from Games Workshop

Yes Dwarfs have Seapower too!

Proving that dwarfs can fight on the sea as well as on land, this patrol of frigates is lead by Daln (meaning fortified outpost) Vluma and contains the Daln Tzanan, Daln Ralzuln, Daln Nulzan, Daln Kaluz and Daln Dumon The dwarf navy relies on steam power, iron armor and really big guns. Each of the frigates of this squadron combines all three factors in a powerful small package. These dwarf frigates are Spartan Games resin castings for Uncharted Seas.
