Prince of the Centuars

Princeps Equus Bellator Magister of the Reatia Clan in his full war regalia is a splendid example of centaur royalty.
Leading his troops into battle is his most important duty as the Prince Royal,
Unlike many of his clan, Princeps Equus Bellator Magister prefers using two swords vs spear or bow in combat.
His special attack is the deadly "Scissors Slice" that he uses to literally disarm his opponents or outright decapitate them.
Princeps Equus Bellator Magister is a plastic piece I painted over the summer.

Air Support is coming in HOT

Coming in hot and fast, the Dark Angels land speeder "Fury Unbounded," brings swift destruction to her enemies. Her battered and battle-scarred hull is mute testimony to "Fury Unbounded's," countless fights and hard-won victories.
Flying nap of earth, into battle with weapons blazing, is not for the faint hearted.
That is not a problem for these veterans of the famed Dark Angels Raven Wings. For, as with all Dark Angels, the Raven Wings live only to fight and die for the honor of their chapter and the glory of the Emperor of Mankind.
When the foe is defeated, (like the dismembered Chaos Space Maire below) there is no rest for these warriors, only time to prepare for the next battle. There is always a next battle, as that is what the Universe is in the 40th century-war-only WAR.
This is a plastic piece I painted in August.

Skirmishers AWI

Skirmishers, like these British light company members facing American Continentals, were an important part of late 18th century warfare. They were used mostly to mask the movement of one's troops, harass opposing lines and disrupt the enemy's movements.

Most skirmishers were armed with the same smoothbore flintlock muskets of the regular line soldiers.
Yet some unites were armed with rifled flintlocks which gave them much better range. But for most armies, rifles were considered too expensive and slow to load to be cost effective for 18th century armies.
These Epic scale figures were painted in early September.

Man? Machine? Maybe Both?

Straight out of an armor-smiths fevered nightmare, comes this colossal metallic "creature," Timor Homo-Metallum! A "man' with no flesh, only gears, pumps, metal and a human brain all powered by the controlled fires of the Jotun Surt.
Timor Homo-Metallum (or Redd Eske Metallmenn to many Norsemen), the man-machine, was created to win battles against creatures of flesh and bone, be they human, demi-human or beast. For all will be present at Ragnarök.
Redd Eske Metallmenn Timor Homo-Metallum is a plastic piece that I recently finished.

Pennsylvanian Continentals

This Continental regiment of Pennsylvanian soldiers is ready to fight the British for American Independence.
Trained in the European style of combat using musket and bayonet, they, and their other Continental brethren, form the backbone of any American army.
This is the latest regiment of my 250th anniversary American War for Independence Epic Battles force I am building.

Gorgon Bonemastar-Killer of Dragons.

Frost Giants are known for their strength and fearlessness. But few surpass the warmaster, Gorgon Bonemastar.

Not only does he wear the bones of his defeated foes...
he even uses the lower jawbone of a dragon as his main weapon.
Those who are not intimidated by a giant that literally ripped a dragon apart to use this weapon, must truly be fools!
Gorgon Bonemastar is a large plastic piece I painted earlier this summer.

You Can Never Have Enough Milita

Colonial Milita was the original "Nation Guard" before the American Revolution.
Quality and training varied greatly from unit to unit. And uniformity of weapons was basically unheard of. As were uniforms in general, in both cases it was usually left to the individual soldier to supply his own clothing and weapon(s).
But what they lacked in training and uniformity, they made up in numbers. And as the Russians were fond of saying, large numbers of troops have a quality all their own.
These are plastic Warlord "Epic" scalepieces I painted in July.

Capture a Sacrificial Victim-Gain Fame and Power

No risk, no gain.
Every common Aztec/Mexica warrior knew the fastest way to improve their lives was though capturing an enemy warrior in battle.
Those brave enough to risk their own lives to capture or conversely be captured, knew the danger. Success meant fame and honors, failure meant capture and being a human sacrifice to the gods by your enemies.
These are plastic pieces I painted last week.

A Queen fit for the Forest

Regina Arborum Silvae is not afraid to don her armor and fight for her people and lands.
Unlike many of her folk, she shuns bow and arrow weapons and prefers to face her foes in personal hand & hoof to hand combat.
Regina Arborum Silvae is a veteran of many battles and has never shied away from combat. In fact, she often tries to prove her valor by leading her troops into battle much to the chagrin of her husband Rex Aurei Silvae.
This can lead to some heated discussions!

Yet, they always make up in the end-for the sake of the family, kingdom and their love for each other, of course.
Both Regina Arborum Silvae & Rex Aurei Silvae are plastic pieces that I painted this month.

French Aid for the American Revolution

The Gatinais Regiment of French infantry marches to the drums in support of the American Revolution.

The commander is dedicated to the American cause.
Vive la roi-Vive les Americains
These are the first of my 250 American Revolution forces that I began painting this month.

King of the Forest-Centaurs

Rex Aurei Silvae rules his subjects with a velvet glove, filled with lead.
For his realm is vast and full of challenges. Not the least being intrusions by the hated two leggers-orcs, lizardmen, ratmen and the worst of the worst, MEN!
As a master of both weapons and magic combat, Rex Aurei Silvae leads his warriors from the front as a true leader should.
Rex Aurei Silvae is a plastic piece I finished last weekend.

Time for the Flower War

In a time long lost the Xochiyaoyotl, "Flower Wars," were fought in the lands of the Mexica/Aztecs. These were combats designed to demonstrate military power, train warriors and capture prisoners for religious human sacrifice.
More ritual than normal military campaigns, Flower Wars were prescheduled between the opponents, usually the Triple Alliance of the Aztecs vs other nearby city states like Tlaxcala.
As in all combats of the era, capturing an opponent for sacrifice was a way of social advancement for common warriors. As special awards were given for the number of prisoners captured, it encouraged the bravest warriors to risk their own lives to capture the most victims possible.
The Flower Wars ended with the Spanish invasion and eventual conquest of the Aztec Empire in the early 16th century.
These are plastic pieces from Atlantic that I recently painted.
