WWII WIP

I just received some cool new Second World War Allies pieces that I now have in their early stages of painting.

Here we have a US Airborne Jeep and crew with the all-important trap wire cutting bar attachment.

And my favorite, piece the famous Corporal Wojtek Polish Soldier Bear from the Italian Front (more on this historic "soldier" will be forthcoming when I present his finished piece).

really looking forward to finishing these pieces this week.

Pieces Painted in May '25

1st piece finished in May was this Dark Angels Chaplin in Terminator armor.

May was 40K Space Marine month as I really got into the swing of painting Richards Dark Angels Chapter Marines. All told I painted 52 pieces in May.

Decorations-6 Sunflowers, Crisis Protocol-1 Black-Suit, Symbiote Spiderman, 40k Warhammer-45 1 each Minion Standard Bearer, Liberian & Lieutenant, 2 each Chaplin's Terminator Heavy Weapons Troopers & Terminator Captains, 10 each Space Marines & Terminators, and 16 Raven Wing Bikers. 

Last piece finished in May was this Dark Angels Lieutenant in regular Space Marine armor.

Work In Progress-Dark Angels Grand Master

                                      

Primed in coal black with the first drybrush of antique gold, a Dark Angels captain, standard bearer and Grand Master Azrael. 

                                                 

                                                 Minions have their first coat of dark red,

First layer of dark green.

Minions are nearly finished additional layers of gold and washes of green have been painted on Azrael

Metallic Green and Gold

Almost there. Azreal is a plastic piece.

What's on the Painting Desk

Up first is a Space Marines Dark Angles Heavy Weapons trooper.

Front to back: Tyranid Termagants and a Tyranid Prime, Space Marine office, six Koren War PVA heavy weapons soldiers, a Marvel Superhero and a large Djinn.

All are plastic pieces.

What's on the Worktable December 10, 2024

I'm in a Fantasy-Super Hero mood as the worktable models show. 

From right to left a Jotnar (Ragnarök); Ork King, Dwarf king 4 dwarves and totem with a Goblin shaman behind them (all Godtear); three Crisis protocol figures including the "Mummy" and last but not least Loki from (Ragnarök).

All are plastic, I also have some WWII pieces, but they are yet to be primed. As to scale, the smaller dwarves are about 30mm.scale. The holidays are a busy time, yet I hope to finish most of these before New Years.

WIP Figures late June '24

Big variety of figures to work on-Fantasy, Mythic and Historical. 

Front to back, right to left:

Hatching Dragon VP, 6 Goblin Cooking crew, 5 Imperial British 19th century officers, Hrolf Kraki & Harald Hardrada, Sgt. Preston of the Mounties-mounted and on foot ("Yukon King" is already painted), Hyrrokkin, Treelord and Thor.

The dragon is just primed, the rest are from 10% to 80% completed.

The British offices and Sgt. Preston are metal pieces all the rest are plastic.

Treelord Stogens Herre WIP Pt 2

Stogens Herre the Treelord is ready for his first layers of his base main colors.

Beige & Antique White.

Standing 14.6 cm (5.75 in.), Stogens Herre is a big miniatures piece and will be quite imposing on the tabletop. Next up dry brush layers of browns, greens and greys.

My next big project is this Treelord Ancient model. Made up of 40+ delicate parts, Stogens Herre (Lord of the Forest) was a good challenging build.

The hoplite behind Skogens Herre is a 25 mm piece to give some size comparison (although you must be careful about (forced Perspective- hee-hee).

Here Skogens Herre has been hand primed black, the initial base cover is glued and some of his magic markings have been given their first painting. Next up will be the bark and leaf primary coloring.

All are plastic except for the Skaven and were painted earlier this month.

Painting Desk WIP's 4-4-24

As is my style, I always like to have an esoteric mix of figures to paint, and today's pieces are a good sample of this.

Ready for priming (hand brushed of course) are 5 Ragnarök Seers (Monolith). The only work I have done on them so far is to put magnets on their bases. Glueing magnets to the bottom of the base is the first thing I do to all my figures to assist with their storage.

In the detail phase of painting are 7 Vampire Team Blood Bowl figures (Citadel). 4 are minion linesmen with 3 vampires in the second row. To the left is a White Elephant (Wildspire) for Ancients to Colonialism time periods.

The Nordic Goddess Frig is at the halfway point, while Vidar (both Monolith) has just been primed. In the front is a turn of the century Rattling Warpgun metal casting that just needs their fine details. Apart from the Rattlings (GW) all the figures are plastic.

Ragnarok-Mystic Battle Figures

My next painting project is a big one-Mystic Battles "Ragnarok." It comes with a great selection of figures.

The game includes 108 pieces from Norse Gods like Odin (upper right corner), Freyja & Thor, Jotunn, monsters, humans, dwarves etc.

More monsters, gods' and heroes.

Lots of minions.

This will give me lots of hours of painting fun, now I just have to work in time for my other ongoing projects-Happy Days!

Northwest Frontier WIP

My latest project Northwest Frontier via the 1930's movie "Gunga Din."

Here we have Sgt.'s Cuttor, Ballantine, MacChesney & Higginbotham, Guna Din, two Tuggee's, the Guru, Cobra and wall of gold.

All are metal pieces from Pulp Figures of Canada.

My next five Marvel characters glued and ready to prime. Left to Right-Klaw, M'Baku, Emma Frost (Human) Psylock & Emma Frost (Diamond Skin).

 

Primed, I only hand paint primer never spray paint.
