Small Patrol-Lots of Firepower

Five man patrols usually don't have a lot of firepower in World War Two.
Unless it's USMC patrol with two BAR's, Two Tommy Gun SMG's and an M1 Garand semi-automatic rifle.
Add in a boat load of hand grenades and the patrol is loaded for bear!

These are plastic pieces I painted in Septembe.r

Sirens-Sailors Doom

For millennia the song of the siren has filled the hearts of sailors with dread.
They were known for the lure of their enchanting songs that would draw the doomed sailors to dash their ships on rock and drown.
Sirens could be defeated as in the cast of Ulysses who had his men plug their ears allowing his ship to was to pass safely.

These Sirens are from Monolith, Mystic Battles that I painted this June.

USMC Sniper-Swift Death in the Grass

Armed with the deadly 1903 Springfield 30.06 rifle, a USMC sniper was a deadly threat to any enemy soldier.
The two man team of sniper and spotter was a well trained killing machine whose descendants in the 21st century are even more deadly.
In reality, the spotter would be a fool to expose himself so much, but as this is a gaming piece so I used some poetic license in his placement to better see the unit on the game board.

Both are plastic pieces from warlord games that I painted in July.

Tank Riders, Infantry Protection for a Free Ride

A pair of Russian IS 2's (Joseph Stain 2) with their tank riders infantry guards advance into battle.
The massive IS 2 was the biggest Russian tank to see battle in World War Two.
46tonnes  (90,000lbs), 120mm (4.72 inches) of sloped armor (up to 155mm-6,1 inches, on the rounded mantel) and a 122mm cannon (4.8 inch) added up to one mean, hard to kill AFV.
The infantry riders gave extra protection from infantry attack to the blind spots of the tank...
especially in the close confines of urban warfare like the battle for Berlin. Here "Little Mother" covers "Number 6" as the latter moves forward.
This is a WIP  photo of the tank to the right (Number 6).

The tanks and soldiers are all plastic pieces from Warlord Games that I painted in 2020.

Mighty Heracles

Prepare to feel the wrath of the "Mighty Heracles" son of Zeus! The fame he gained though his 12 tasks would solidify his standing as the greatest of the Greek Hero's.
Protected by the impervious skin of the Nemean Lion and the magic girdle of Hippolya, Queen of the Amazons, Heracles (Hercules to the Romans)...
was the most feared of all the Demi-God hero's by the monsters of Greece.
Heracles is a plastic piece from Monolith, Mystic Battles that I painted this July.

The Commissar takes the Lead

"Rally to the flag of the Motherland " cries Commissar Lenin Vasilyevich as he leads the way forward into the teeth of the Axis Invaders! The war torn banner has been through much in the Great Patriotic War, yet the Commissar knows that through it all that victory will eventually go to the Motherland.
Commissar Lenin Vasilyevich is a metal piece from Warlord Games that I  painted in 2019.

Python the Fearsome

Python, the Delphi protector Earth-Dragon, mortal enemy of Apollo.
The fearsome beast enjoyed the occasional human meal when they fell into his crushing coils.
Python would eventually fall to Apollos arrows but until then...
those who crossed his path added their crushed bones to his bed.
And then along came Brave Hiktos Nuluk "the Cursed" who can not die but feels all the crushing pain monsters such as Python can administer!

Python is a plastic piece from Mystic Battles, Hiktos is a 1970's, 25mm metal piece from Ral Partha.

Browning .30 Cal Machinegun-Firepower You Can Count On

Dug in and ready for an enemy attack, this USMC .30 Cal Browning Machinegun can quickly lay down a wall of deadly firepower.
With a 600 rounds per minute rate of fire and effective range of 1400m (1500 yards), the M1919 saw heavy action with the Allies in World War Two.
Multiple versions of the M1919 have continued in use to the present day.
While the US Military used the famous 30.06 Springfield cartridge, models of the M1919 have been chambered for rounds from .22 long rifle to .303 cal. as well as from 6.5mm to 7.92 mm (2.55 to .311 cal.) for the need of the militaries of 70 countries.
This MMG team is made up of plastic pieces from Warlord Games.

Here is a shot of the piece earlier this month before I started painting.

Kali the Mechanica-Terror Encased in Metal

An angry Kali is bad enough-but Kali encased in a near indestructible steam powered boy is truly terrifying!  The necklace of human skulls is not just for looks...
as this Kali is under the direction of the Evil Mologh is his attempt to replace Victoria's Imperial Government as his first step for World Domination.

Mechanica Kali ia a plastic piece from the Rise of Mologh, World of Smog that I painted this month.

When Ma Duce Speaks-Lookout!

For almost a hundred years, the Browning Machine Gun Cal .50 M2-"Ma Duce" has been a mainstay of the American Military.
From arming warplanes, warships, AFV's, trucks, jeeps vehicles of all types to the ground units, of the USMC, Army Navy, Air Force and even the Coast Guard have all used MA Duce's in every American conflict since the 1930's. In single mounts like this, up to quad mounts on M16 halftracks ("Meatchoppers") the support they have given to the American foot soldier has been truly massive.
Firing its .50 cal. (12.7mm) at 600 rounds per minute, Ma Duce is a devastating weapon that can easily punch though a half inch of armor. Over 3 million have been produced since 1921, while the improved versions of Ma Duce show that this famous weapon will continue to see active service into the fore seeable future.
This Ma Duce paratroop team is a metal piece from Warlord Games that I painted in July.
