"Old Blood & Guts" and "Chesty" Puller

 Today's blast from the past is two of the 2nd World War's famous American military leaders

Lt. General George S. Patton- "Old Blood and Guts," loved by some hated by others, was one of the best armor commanders of World War Two. My kids' maternal grandfather was in Patton's Third Army from December '44 to the end of the war and felt he was the greatest American commander of the war.

Colonel (later Lieutenant General) Chesty Puller, the most decorated Marine in the history of the Corps.  "Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in a different direction," is one of his famous quotes.
