"We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things."

Colonel (later Lieutenant General) Chesty Puller, the most decorated Marine in the history of the Corps. The above quote was made in Korea during the Chosen Reservoir Battle. "Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in a different direction," is another of his quotes.
By the end of his 37 years in the Corps he had earned 5 Navy Crosses, the Distinguished Service Cross, a Silver Star, two Legions of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
His campaign medals included the Marine Corps Expeditionary with 1 bronze star, World War One Victory, Haitian Campaign, Second Nicaraguan Campaign, China Service, American Defense Service with 1 bronze star, American Campaign, Asian-Pacific Campaign with 4 Bronze stars, World War Two Victory, National Defense Service, Korean Service with 1 silver star.

Chesty is a metal piece I painted in 2019.
