Panzer III-Backbone of the Afrika Korps Armor

Elly, Panzer III Aust. L with its 50mm (1.97 inch) ATG is ready to support the Afrika Korps latest confrontation with the British in North Africa.
With up to 50mm of armor and a maximum speed of 40k/ph ( 25mph), the 23 ton Panzer III was the main tank of Rommel's armored divisions. But by 1943, they were being outclassed by the latest American and British designs.
Originally designed to be the main tank of the German Army throughout the Second World War, the Panzer III found to be to light in armor and weapons to take on the Russian T-354 and KV series of tanks.
The production run of 5774 tanks, Aust. A-N, was ended by 1943. Yet the tanks soldiered on throughout the war even seeing service in the Soviet Army, where several hundred captured Panzer III's were up gunned and turn upon their original owners.
This is a plastic model for Bolt Action battles, that I built and painted this June.
