Ghouls, they're not Undead, Yet

Ghouls, creeping through a crop of dead woods looking for their next meal.

They have already cleaned out the local cemetery, in the background, of "freshly dead meat."

And now are on the prowl for some more "lively" meals.

As they are still "living" creatures, their unearthly pallor, cravings for human flesh (dead or alive) and their beastly nature, place them but one step above the Undead such as mindless zombies and skeletons.

The very fact that they have minds and human cunning makes them more dangerous than the more fear inspiring Zombies and Skeletons.

But, while Ghouls are many things, they are not overly brave, food that puts up a fight is not to their liking.

So, beware the night when Ghouls are on the hunt, lock your doors, say your prayers and keep you weapons handy.

These Ghouls are metal pieces I painted in the early 2000's for my Undead Warhammer Army.

When the Undead March to War - Life Sucking Wraiths

With the lust to steal life from the living two Wraiths gleefully join the call to war.

Ethereal as well as deadly, Wraiths are among the most deadly undead monsters.

These are metal pieces that I painted in the early 2000's.

Beer, Football and Fighting WIP

The next Work in Progress is a Blood Bowl Team for Richard, the hard hitting, heavy drinking Norse warriors. They will join his Lizardmen and Skaven teams for his Blood Bowl tournaments.

They even have their own "Beer Toting Boars."

Lots of interesting details to paint on these.

Their color scheme will be that of the Chicago Bears. I'll post them again when they are finished.

When the Undead March to War - Zombies Relentlessly Shuffle

When the Master casts spells of Raising, the undead and recently dead come.

Near mindless, Zombies are easy to manipulate into fighting as a unit. They have little need for standards and musicians, but these do have a powerful moral effect upon their opponents who associate such things with organization and training. Thus, making the Zombies appear even more dangerous than they actually are.

They may slowly shuffle into battle, yet they will never run from the fight...

as they will literally fight until they are chopped to bits and have nothing left to claw, bit slash or club with.

Fear is one of their greatest weapons, as only the bravest will stand and fight these monsters in hand-to-hand combat.

These are more plastic pieces that I painted in the early 2000's for my Undead Army. There's much more to come.

Epic Eldar

Aligned into the classic Wedge Attack Formation, this Eldar battle unit is ready for battle in the forever war of the 40K future.

These Eldar AFV's are from the 1st Edition of Epic and painted in the 1980's and are less than 20mm long (.78 in.).

In those days, bright colorful units were the norm, unlike the grittier combat look of today's figures.

When the Undead March to War - The Gathering Horde

When the master calls the hordes of undead skeletons form units to go to war.

Silent in voice, the only noise they make in the clanking of weapons and the creaking of bones, enough to warn those who are observant that the Army of the Dead is on the march.

What they lack in brains and muscles they make up in relentless ferocity.

They have no feelings, no morals, and no fear.

They only know the need to fight and kill for their master.

So, for the living, fear the coming of the Skeletons of War.

The skeleton horde marches to war, soon to be joined by the rest of the army of the dead.

These are mostly plastic piece that I painted for Warhammer in the early 2000's.
