Never known for his peaceful deminer, Try is prone to anger quickly. And Being the God of War losing his temper can lead to massive bloodshed. He pulses with raw energy and rage at these times.
As the God of War, Justice and Oaths, Tyr has a strong feeling of righteousness and holds others to these same high standards.
Only once did he deliberately go against his code of ethics. This was when he was asked to lie to the fearsome child of Loki, the Fenrir Wolf.
The gods so feared Fenrir that they had the Dwarves forge the strongest magical bonds in the world, "Gleipnir," to bind the beast. While the bonds looked like simple silk ribbons, Fenrir was suspicious. To assuage Fenrir's fears Tyr placed his hand in the beast's mouth as proof that silk was no more than decorative, a brutal lie. When Fenrir realized he was imprisoned he snaped his jaws shut taking Tyr's hand-a high price to pay for breaking a promise. The two will meet again during Ragnarök.
As the God of War, Tyr was honored by having the name of the second day of the week. "deis Marti" (Mars Day) replaced with Tyrsdagr (Tyr's Day). Today we call it Tuesday.
