An Aussie ML 3-inch mortar team give rapid fire support to their friends
somewhere in the jungles of the South Pacific.
The ML 3-inch (81mm) was approved for the British Army in the 1930's and adopted by Commonwealth troops shortly thereafter.
With an effective range 1500 m (1600 yds), the 4.5 kg (10 lb) shell added a needed firepower to the "Bloody Infantry" throughout both the Second World War and the Korean War.
These are a scratch built plastic pieces that I painted in August of 2019.
