Athena (Minerva to the Romans) Goddess of Wisdom and War
As one of the 12 Olympian Gods, Athena has proven her worth many times,
Such as when she buried the Giant Enceladus under Mount Edna during the great battle of Gigantomachy for the rule of the World.
Since sprouting full grown from the Head of Zeus, with her armor, spear and shield, Athena has been one of the most important of the Olympian Gods.
With her owl as a symbol of her knowledge, she is the patron of wisdom and military tactics as opposed to her bother Ares' smash them head on concept of battle.
The patron of both Athens and Greek hero's, Athena has many times helped both the mortals and gods.
She has been especially helpful to her half-brother Herakles and the hero Perseus.
Perseus was so grateful for her assistance, here presented her with the head of the gorgon Medusa, which now adorns her shield.
I painted Athena in July 2021. She is a plastic piece from Mystic Battles.
