Persephone cause of the Seasons

Persephone, Goddess of Springtime and Queen of the Underworld as the wife of Hades.

Daughter of Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture, the "kidnapping-marriage" of Persephone by Hades was the reason for the creation of the season.

As a result of eating some pomegranate seeds, Persephone was required to spend half of the year with Hades and half with her mother.  Due to Demeter's sadness for her missing daughter the six months of separation became Fall and Winter. While the Spring and Summer were time s of happeness for Demeter as her daughter was with her. 

Persephone is a plastic piece from Monolith, Mystic Battles that I painted this July.

This is her husband, Hades, on a bad day! Persephone is the size of  the Greek warrior Brave Hiktos Nuluk "the Cursed" to the left.
