Hephaestus (Vulcan to the Romans) was the Greek God of Fire and Forges.
Volcanoes were said to be signs of his working his forges making weapons, armour and tools for the gods.
Even though he was often described as ugly and lame, he was married to the beautiful and unfaithful, goddess Aphrodite (Venus to the Romans).
Hephaestus is a large plastic piece that I painted in 2017.
