Guardians of the Galaxy vs X-men (& Women)

 

The opponents:

The Guardians (Rick): Starlord (leader), Angela, Rocket Racoon, Enchantress & Groot.

    The X-Men (Richard): Domino, X-23, Storm, Beast and cable (leader).

                      The battlefield, guardians at at the top, X-men at the bottom.

The Battle: goal- gain victory points from control of fight enhancing hammers (4) and control meteorites (3).

Opening moves, grab those hammers and take control of meteorite locations.

Enchantress is loaded with power for action.

First combats, Domino gets hurt while Groot gets slammed,

 Luckly, he has one hit point left and wasn't stunned.

Beast is seriously hurt as well. X-Men have a one-point lead.

Lots of carnage now takes place, Rocket and, Groot are seriously damaged and stunned.

Cable, Storm and Beast are also stunned. The next turn will decide the battle as X-men have double the points of the Guardians. 

The "Battle Royal" is engaged. Guardian's Rocket, Groot and Angela, and X-Men Beast, Cable and Domino are all taken out, Enchantress and X-23 are the only heroes who have not been stunned during the game. With the X-men VP lead, only Enchantress taking out X-23 will save the game for the Guardians. Drumm Roll---Enchantress missed stunning X-23 by one point, X-Men win.

This was a fun action-packed game that came down to the last die roll. As the Guardians, if I had stunned X-23 she would have dropped her two hammers, and I could claim the VP meteorite been able to pull out a close victory.  Sooo close...  I especially appreciated the advice and comments Richard gave as I am still learning the game system.

If you haven't played Crisis Protocol, all the heroes have two sided cards. When they take their full amount of hit points for the first time they are stunned (if they haven't activated their turn is over) the card is flipped, and they start the next turn undamaged and with all the power points that had when stunned. If they take full hit points again, they are taken out. It is not possible therefore to take out a character in one round. 

X-23, Cable, Angela and Enchantress are really powerful characters, especially a powered-up X-23, she is brutal.
