When the Fight is Desperate Send in the Philippine Scouts

In the dark early days of the US vs Imperial Japan, the 26th US Cavalry, Philippine Scouts held their
own in the bloody combats in the jungles and brush of the Philippines. By the end of the 2nd week of the campaign they had taken 392 casualties, more than 46% of  their original strength. Their weapons include 1903 Springfield's, a BAR, a Tommygun, hand grenades, bayonets and lots of guts.
This squad has seen much brutal fighting as the rearguard during the Americans withdraw towards Bataan. Originally mounted, they were forced to sacrifice their mounts to help feed the embattled American forces.
Hoping for help from the States, help that will not arrive for three years, they keep fighting. That they have no air support, little artillery support, are short on ammo, food and medical supplies, doesn't matter-they fight on.
I made these Filipino Scouts by modifying Warlord Bolt action American plastic figures in 2019.  Their rag tag look with mixed uniforms are to give that last stand feel.
