The Few - the Brave - the Marines

Philippines, January 1941

The remains of a squad of the 4th Marines ready themselves for the next assault of Imperial Japanese troops. As part of the rearguard, they have to hold the enemy as long as possible.
The war so far has gone badly for the American forces, no air support, no naval support, no reinforcements and a seemingly endless supply of enemy troops. Regardless, the Marines have a job to do, bravery and guts will have to suffice as they hold the line for yet another long day,
At days end, its fall back to the next line, maybe things will change when they get to Bataan.

These are the latest batch of my Early War AMericans, that I kit-bashed together and painted in November.

First pieces painted in November were 21 F4F Wildcat WWII USN fighters.
I painted forty pieces in November ranging in size from 8mm (.31in.) F4F fighters to an acrylic 60.9cm x 45.7cm (24in x 18 in) canvas.
Here is the list of pieces: Canvas-1 Acrylic light house 60.9cm x 45.7cm (24in x 18 in), Fantasy-2 Blood Bowl Tokens & 4 Ulvekriegers (Wolf Warriors), Second World War- 11 Early war USMC, 21 & F4F fighters, Game Terrain-1 Bonze "Sacred Worm" statue. All the miniatures were plastic pieces.
The last pieces painted in November were these early WWII USMC 28mm pieces.

It's Time for NORSE BLOOD BOWL!

With the full team assemble, including the critically important Beer Boars, the Norse Blood Bowl Team is ready to take violence on to the Blood Bowl Turf.
Beer violence and football all go so naturally for the Norse players, that they are known for their wild and crazy style of play.
So off to the game and all glory to ODIN!

These are plastic pieces I painted last month for Richard's latest Blood Bowl Campaign. Check out the Blood Bowl listed below to see all of the teams I have painted for Richard.

Successful Rearguard Actions Need Lots of Planning

Things are going from bad to worse in the Philippines in early 1941 for the Amercian forces. Especially for USMC Lt. Dan Bakburn who has depleted platoon has been given the rearguard responsibility for the retreating USAA/USMC/Philippine forces head towards Bataan. With a limited force facing overwhelming odds, the Lieutenant knows that he must plan well if he hopes to hold back the Japanese long enough to complete his mission.

As the fighting has been up-close and brutal, Lt. Bakburn and aide, Sgt. Mick Hardfist have taken trusted Remington 12 gauge "Trench-Sweepers" as their main combat weapons.

While things look bleak, Lt. Bakburn knows that his men will give their all and fight to give the retreating column as much time as they can to get to new positions and wait for the hoped for re-enforcements from the States. (Unkown to him these forces will never come intime to save the doomed Allied forces.)

These are kit bashed pieces I built and painted this month for my Early War US Pacific forces.

Ulvekrigers Killers on the Hunt

Ulvekrigers (Wolfwarriors) are the hunter killers under the command of the Giant Wolf Fenris.
Ulveblod (Wolfblood), Ulvesonn (Wolfson), UlveBror (Wolfbrother) and Ulvehjerte (Wolfheart) form the Ulvekrigers Pack.
Fearless, bloodthirst and 100% loyal to Fenris, the Ulvekrigers are perfect warriors and killers of their lords' enemies.
These are plastic pieces that I painted in October.

Beer Makes Us Play Better-Honest

Beer, glorious beer, makes the play better in Blood Bowl.

At least that the story given by the Norse Linemen (and Linewomen) as they insist on not only drinking on the field,

they even use their metal mug as to bash their opponents during game "play."

Having an extra barrel of Ale helps the game play as well.

These are plastic Blood Bowl pieces I put together and painted in October.
