What Do You Mean Vikings Didn't Have Horned Helmets?

Sig Nonhelm is shocked to learn that his horned helmet is not historically accurate.
"Why it's as correct as my curved sword! Isn't it?"
Sorry to say history is clear, horned combat helmets were never worn by Norse Raiders/Vikings. It's a fabrication promoted by the writers and artists of the 19th century. Really, what warrior would want a helmet that would give an enemy's blade a better chance to strike a ringing blow to one's head instead of glancing off.
This is an old 1970's Ral Partha 25mm metal piece I painted.
