10th Wurttemburg Marches on France 1914

Officially titled 10.Württembergisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 180, 51. Reserve-Infanterie-Brigade, 26. Württembergische Reserve-Division der 2 Armee, the 10th was actively involved in combat from the earliest days of the war. Armed with the excellent five shot Mauser 7.92 mm Gewehr 98 rifle, the infantry of the 10th Regiment were formidable opponents. In the Battle of the Frontiers of August 1914, the 10th Wurttemburg marched through Northern France heading towards a turning point in history, the Battle of the Marne.
