Blood Sucking Players

Vampire Blitzer Amator Sanguinis-Opus and Runner Ismeralda von Sanguinis-Luxurias are two of the bloodiest plays on the Blood Bowl team Noteum Venatores.

As one of the highest paid players on the team, Ismeralda von Sanguinis-Luxurias believes that the more violent her play the better her team will appreciate her. That she loves blood and violence is a bonus.

On the other hand, Amator Sanguinis-Opus prefers to get his bonuses through blood "donations" taken from the opposing teams' players.

Occasionally, when under the full bower of blood lust, the two vampires actually see each other as competitors rather than teammates.

In those times, only great personal restraint, and the Coach-Master Vlad D"Impallors violent temper, can separate the two. Forcing them to again focus on the game at hand. 

Besides the after-game banquet will always have plenty of fresh, warm blood to sedate their lusts...

I Love Ripping Out Kidneys

The last sight countless terrorized victims see, the Jotunn Hraesvelg.

Preferring the form of a fearce giant eagle to his normal Jotunn form, Hraesvelg uses the powerful sweep of his wings to bring icy storms that plague Midgard.

As with many birds of prey, he has a fondness for the tender innards of his live meals, especially their warm kidneys.

His ceaseless verbal war with the dragon Nidhogg is continuously fanned by Ratatosk (World Historyprof: Misinformation and Agitation is my Job) that will not be settled until the final battles of Ragnarök.

Hraesvelg is a plastic piece I painted earlier this week.

We Do Our Vampires Bidding

Vampire minion linesmen Ugor, Igor & Egor may not have much in the way of brains, but they do follow blindly any and all commands by their masters. Some even say that their "vampire bat" Monstrum is smarter than the three minions combined, 

As members of the Noteum Venatores Vampire Team, they don't need brains just the ability to take punishment. A skill they abound in as they have no free will and are forced to accept pain.

So, when the game begins, their masters have their minions take the field and force them to play until they are literally beaten to pulps.

Painting Desk WIP's 4-4-24

As is my style, I always like to have an esoteric mix of figures to paint, and today's pieces are a good sample of this.

Ready for priming (hand brushed of course) are 5 Ragnarök Seers (Monolith). The only work I have done on them so far is to put magnets on their bases. Glueing magnets to the bottom of the base is the first thing I do to all my figures to assist with their storage.

In the detail phase of painting are 7 Vampire Team Blood Bowl figures (Citadel). 4 are minion linesmen with 3 vampires in the second row. To the left is a White Elephant (Wildspire) for Ancients to Colonialism time periods.

The Nordic Goddess Frig is at the halfway point, while Vidar (both Monolith) has just been primed. In the front is a turn of the century Rattling Warpgun metal casting that just needs their fine details. Apart from the Rattlings (GW) all the figures are plastic.

First piece painted in March was the cursed Dwarf/Serpent Fafnir.

I painted 46 pieces in March, not as many as in February, but still close to 1 1/2 pieces a day.

Game Terrain 6-Thirteen Hour Clock, Power Juncture, 4 Trees. World War Two 1- British Tank Commander. Blood Bowl 2- Vampire Ball & Vampire Coffin Turn Marker.

Last figure painted in March was the Female Warrior Brunhild.

Flower Power!

Master Plant Druid Marcus Agricda Plantae and his familiar Rubrum Petasum knows nothing can beat the power growing plants.

Stong or fragile, hard or tender. sharp or smooth benign or deadly, plants cover all the bases of life. And Master Marcus controls every aspect of plant life.

Plants can even be his eyes and ears, warning him through their "feelings" of any dangers, even from those behind him.

Misinformation and Agitation is my Job

Among the mythic creatures of the Nine Worlds, Ratatosk is one of the most devious.

For. as a resident of the World Tree Yggdrasil, Ratatosk has made it his goal to stoke the anger and hatred between two of the more powerful creatures that also live at the World Tree-the Eagle Hraesvelg in the crown and dragon Nidhogg at its base.

By rushing up and down Yggdrasil with the continued insults of the two monsters Ratatosk is the only form of communication between the two.

As the two enemies already hate each other, it gives great pleasure to Rattatosk to furth enflame the situation by twisting the truth of what the antagonists say to each other. Due to this, the anger of the great monsters becomes so great that they lash out at the World Tree smashing and poisoning the great tree. The cumulative effects of such damage will continue to compound and lead to the decay and eventual death of Yggdrasil.
