Banana Wars Marines

Still in England. Here is the next unit in my project on the USMC through its history. This is a patrol of Marines in the Jungles of Haiti in the early decades of the 20th Century. They have bolt action model 1903 Springfields firing 30.06 rounds. For support they have a 12 gauge trench gun and a new .45 cal. "Tommygun."

Beware of Gas

I'm in England so fewer posts for the next week or so. While the French were the first to use gas attacks in World War I (tear gas in 1914), they were unprepaired for the first massive posion gas assualts of 1915. Here we have a machine gun crew with the light weight early war gas mask while the grim faced officer and soldiers are caught unprepaired.
