Wolverine, Ha, He's Only a Man

X-23 & Honey Badger two of the most powerful women in the world. X-23 (Laura Kinney) is a genetic copy of the powers of Wolverine, she even has retractable ademantium claws. While Honey Badger (Gabriele Kinney) was created from the genetics of X-23, although she has retractable bone claws.
Augmented or created doesn't matter, what matters is that these women have the powers similar to the more famous Wolverine.
Augmented or created doesn't matter, what matters is that these women have the powers of the more famous Wolverine and there are two of them.
Both X-23 and Honey Badger are plastic pieces from Atomic Mass Games that I painted this week.

Man vs Monster-the Continued Curse of Hiktos Nuluk

La Mortel, the Giant Scorpion/Woman/Gorgon, is the latest foe that luckless hoplite Hiktos Nuluk must face in his cursed life. Although he is doomed to lose, Hiktos will still fight with all his skill and strength till the bitter end. He knows no other way than to fight every foe, for he is a hoplite who know not the meaning of surrender.

La Mortel is a plastic piece from Monolith, while Hiktos is a metal 25mm piece from Ral Partha I painted in the 1970's.

Hiktos' back story is here:

It is I, Drun KaZumm-Dwarf Shaman

There is no such creature as a Dwarf Shaman you say, HAA I beg to differ exclaims Drun Ka Zumm. We are not common, but we do exist.  We even have our animal familiars. Mine are Blkeye the crow and Grybryd the Orangutang.
Together we protect our clan, our holdings, our friends and crush those who would threaten these.
Durn and Grybryd are plastic pieces I painted in August.

Hoplite Officer

Every military force needs officers; Greek Hoplites were no acceptation.

Alexi Cripus was rewarded with his leadership role for his brave actions in several battles.
Alexi is a plastic piece I painted over the weekend.

Basic OP (Observation Post)

On a whim, decided to make a basic OP for late 19th and 20th century games.
The plan was to make it in less than a day. with materials I had in my terrain bits box.
The roof is cardboard, the supports are a cut up chopstick, the walls Styrofoam covered in sand and the bas a piece of flooring.
The whole thing, including painting, was completed Sunday while watching NFL pregame show and my Bears beat Huston.

To show the size I used some Atlantic Partisans I recently painted.
Later I'll probably add some small plants for a little more color.

This was a fun easy project that came from this doodle I did Sat. night.

Automaton-Hussar-Officer, What's Not to Like

Captain Otto Mattron of the Queens 1st Mechanical Hussars has the bests of times as an Imperial officer in the Greatest Empire in History! Mechanical Hussars get all the most dangerous assignments, and Captain Otto loves it (yes, he is programmed to have feelings as are his mechanical troopers).
I painted this plastic piece from the Rise of Mologh in 2018

Form the Pacific Front-How to Handle Enemy Pillboxes

In the Island-Hopping Campaign, the enemy use a variety of dug in positions from simple slit trenches to re-enforced concrete "pillboxes"

When facing pillboxes, the more firepower you have the better. A 75mm canon firing HE or WP on a Sherman like Dolly above, or the older Lee, below, is a positive game changer.

The flamethrower, either mounted (like this field modified Stuart/Satan that replaced its hull mounted .30 cal. MG with a flamethrower), or man pack, is horrible yet effective weapon to use against dug in foes.
2.36 in (60mm) Bazooka gives the infantry some heavy fire power to blow through bunker walls.

The Aussies have even had success with their 55. Cal (13.97 mm) Anti-Tank Rifles.

Even the sniper, in the right circumstances, can help take out a pesky dug in position.

The above figures are a combination of metal and plastic pieces that I painted in the past three years.

Giant Scorpion-Snaked Headed Gorgon, So Many Ways to Kill You

La Mortel is a bad tempered halfhuman creature that enjoys destroying her opponents.
She is armed with deadly venom in her stinger, inhuman strength in her four massive claws and deadliest of all the ability to turn to stone those who look at her face.
She is also heavily armored fo most of her body. All in all, she is a most deadly foe.
La Mortel is a large plastic piece from Mystic Battles that I finished yesterday

Partisan Vrom Start to Finish Part II

Finished and ready for combat, left to right Jean with the Colt .45Andre with the rifle, Marcel with the Potato Masher, Pierre in back with a Grease Gun and Louis with a captured MP-40.
Partisan all, with the fury for revenge and the bravery to continue the fight against the invaders.
A fast raid and then disappear to await the next mission until a final victory is achieved.

Joined by Rene, Jeter and "Cowboy" (For more info see: World Historyprof: We Are Not Defeated Yet!), the eight-man cell is ready "Vive la France!"
All are plastic, I finished five last night and three last week.

Partisans from Start to Finish Part I

I decided to try painting some Wargames Atlantic World War Two figures, Partisans to be exact.
Here we have four bodies with a choice of weapons arms heads and a few accessories.
Four men now ready for priming. Two rifles, a colt .45, Potato Masher, Grease Gun and Sten gun make up the weapons.
Bases covered with sand, bodies and weapons primed. Tomorrow, the end results.

Even Minotaur's Can Make Music

Being a member of Pmkn Zzbl Queen of Cats Orchestra is an important job to Grybrrd de Minotaur.
It is a little ironic that his instrument of choice is the "Cow Bell." No matter, the honor of being part of the Terre de Betes National Orchestra more than makes up for Grybbd's choice of instrument.
Grybbd de Minotaur is a plastic piece that I painted up last night.

We Are Not Defeated Yet!

Throughout occupied Europe, groups of partisans refused to give up the fight against the invaders.
Here is such a group, no uniforms, armed with whatever weapons they can gather together.
The leader, "Rene," with his 1909 Mauser machine pistol, directs the raid. "Jeter" is ready to start the action with his "potato masher" grenade. While "Cowboy" will use his Bren Gun to lay down cover fire.
These are plastic pieces from Atlantic's "Partisans (1): French Resistance" that I painted last night.
