Guten Tag

With his massive "Guten Tag" club, Xander "the Defender," challenges those who endanger the lives of the weak.
Xander knows no fear, yet he also knows he is fated to fall protecting those who cannot protect themselves...but no matter...until that day he will continue the fight for what is good.

Xander is a plastic piece I painted this year.

I Will Be Victorious Against Troy!

Agamemnon, King of Mycenae, commander of the Greek host in the Trojan War, directs his warriors.
It will take years, but he and the Greeks will indeed be victorious, at great cost, but they will win.
He even sacrificed his own daughter, Iphigeneia, to appease the gods. In the end his victory over Troy is short lived as he is murdered by his own wife, Clytemnestra upon his return from the war.
Agamemnon is a plastic piece from Mystic Battles that I painted in August.

Two Nationalist Chinese MG 34 7.96mm (.311 inch) medium machinegun stand ready
to defend the homeland from Japanese aggression
The elite divisions of the Nationist Army were trained and equipped by Germans in the 1930's.
While most of these units were destroyed in the early years of the Japanese invasion,
they took a heavy toll on the invader's forces.
As with all modern armies, snipers were also an important part of the Nationalist forces.
I put together these plastic soldiers from German pieces for my Bolt Action Pacific War Chinese Army in 2018.

Arachne-Mother of Spiders

Arachne, once a beautiful and skilled mortal woman who made the mistake of besting the goddess
Athenia in a weaving match. Having won the contest, Arachne paid the price with her life as well as her humanity. Turned into the mother of all spiders by the vengeful gods, Arachne spins her webs ever seeking, and never gaining, her revenge against the gods...yet.
I painted Arachne in 2020 for Mystic Battles.

Mologh RISES!

The massive  Mologh has RISEN to challenge the Unicorn Club for control of the Victorian Empire
With arcane powers that match his brute strength,
Mologh is a dangerous foe for any hero of the empire.
Pre-rising Mologh is dwarfed by his Risen self.

These are plastic pieces I painted in 2018

Warlords Pay Better

After the fall of the Qing Dynasty China was at war with itself, Communists, Nationalists and countless Warlords. Warlords are a common occurrence in Chinese History, especially after the fall of a dynasty.
He we have a squad of warlord mercenaries, fighting for money is often a great recruiting inducement.
By the 1930's the intervention and eventual out right invasion of China by the Japanese changed the military and political landscape the country.
Slowly but surely the warlord armies disappeared, by the end of the 1940's the age of the 20th century Chinese warlord was over...for now, will they return in the future is another question.
These are all plastic pieces that I modified from a variety of German, British and American figure sprues back in 2018.

Achilles, Safe from all Wounds, Almost

Achilles, the Greek hero in the Trojan War. Impervious to all wounds except in the heel of his feet-oops, thanks mom. (If you don't get the joke, look up the story of Achilles.)

Achillies is another Mystic Battles piece I paint early this Fall.

Prince-Hero of Troy

Hector, the tragic hero and prince of the doomed City of Troy in the Iliad, prepares to met the Greek Hero Achilles.
Hector will fight valiantly, but to no avail against the virtually impervious Achilles.
Hector is a plastic piece from Mystic Battles that I painted earlier this month.

The Scout

A USMC scout takes the lay of the land before the rest of his unit advances.  It can be a lonely job, and a dangerous one, but vital to the safety of his men.
I painted this plastic piece in 2019.

Mr. Honk on a Good Day

Mr. Honk, the Unicorn Clubs Great Ape member is in a happy state of mind, at least his version of a happy day
You can see Mr. Hook in a bad mood here:

World Historyprof: You Really Don't Want To Make Me Mad

Opps spoke too soon; red eyes are not a good sign...

Mr. Honk is a plastic piece I painted in 2019.

Light Mortar at the Run

The Ordinance Two-Inch Mortar was light enough to carry at the run, set up quickly and give fast accurate fire power for the "Poor Bloody Infantry" in all the Commonwealth forces. Here we have an Aussi team taking on the Japanese.
This team is from Warlord that I painted in 2019.

Sniper -Death in the Grass

A deadly Aussie sniper team takes aim on some Japanese in the Pacific Campaign.
If time permits, they will carefully hide their presence but at times as the battle ebbs and flows they
take the shot on whatever cover they can find.
I painted this sniper team in 2019 for my Bolt Action Commonwalth Army.
