Twilight Patrol
Twilight on a late Fall, 1914 evening and a squadron of the 6th Magdeburg Dragoons patrols the ruins of a village in Northern France. The war of movement that started in August is quickly degrading into the horrors of trench warfare. The role of the dragoons will change as well as they give up their mounts to join their infantry brethren in the trenches. The 6th Magdeburg Dragoons are 28mm metal pieces from Renegade.

The Stockade
She is finished for stage one. Stage two will be to make several structures for the center that will add to the game theme being used. tents, block house, watch tower etc.
The basic look is for the post is to appear like a fort built on the quick and not designed to be a long term position. The soil is tramped with bits of grass surviving in spots. The turf of the soil in the bastions is mostly worn down and the walls are slapped together a'la Old Fort Wentworth in the classic 1939 "Northwest Passage."
Ready for any time period, the stockade stands ready to welcome the next combatants.
The Lady Charolette von Hapsburg-Stuart, Pirate Princess, is a metal 28mm piece from Brigade Games, the cannon is a plastic piece from Safari Limited.

A Stocade is only as Strong as its Main Gate WIP
A strong main gate is a needed addition to any fortification. This one is mad of massive solid timbers.
Double gates reduces the heavy weight that the guards need to manhandle as they open or close the entry.
An interior shot, note the stands for defenders to fire down on enemies. The barbarian is a plastic and metal 28mm piece from Warlord.

Endless Battles Leave Their Marks
Lords of the Elf nations often pay a price for the security of their people. Wounds from seemingly endless battles, broken bones, jaws and wounds to the soul all leave their mark.
The once young and beautiful face now carries the scars of too many lost causes and too few victories.
Yet no matter the pain, the bitter losses, the fruitless victories, the fight continues and will as long as he draws breath for he is the leader of a proud people.
Another metal figure for the Lord of the Rings line from Games Workshop.
