Mad Scientist-Who Me?

"No, I'm not a Mad Scientist," protests Dr. Hans Becherglas as he readies his next Special Formula XXX-"Instant Iceberg."
"I'm not angry at anyone."  "I just like to freeze things, um, make stuff grow big, make really big explosions, oh yes, and build death rays, but I'm not mad at anybody."
Dr. Becherglas is a metal 28mm piece from Pulp Figures and the third of my Pulp Fiction Mad Scientists.

Open Up and Say AHHH

Dr. Amare Scialienis checks on her latest "development" - Draco Rubrum.  She has just "de-corked" him from one of her vats just visible in the right rear.
"Fluffy," as Dr. Scialienis affectionately calls him, is the latest of her Biological  experiments.
Dr. Scialienis is a 28mm metal piece from Pulp Figures, Fluffy (who also doubles as Smaug in the Fantasy World) is a massive metal piece from Archive Miniatures.

With the Leib-Chevaulegers in the lead the combined cavalry of Wurttemburg marches forward into the bloody Napoleonic Wars of the early 1800's.

These are all 15mm metal pieces that I painted in the late 1970's.

Zulu!

Two warriors of the umCijo ("the Sharp Pointed") Regiment scout on the frontier of the Zulu - Natal border  in 1879.  The center warrior proudly displays his British Martini-Henry breech loading rifle that he captured in battle.
The umCijo were in the spearhead of the attack on the British camp at Isandlwana destroying the Natal Natives, and companies A and F of the 24th Foot.
In close support is a warrior in a captured jacket of the Natal Mounted Police firing another British Martini-Henry Rifle.
The umCijo was one of the most active Zulu regiments in the Zulu War as they were also involved in the battles of Kambula and  Gingindlovu, before being destroyed at Ulundi.
These large 30mm metal pieces are from Reaper.

A Captain and Her Crew

Surrounded by her loyal, and well armed, bully-boy crew, Captain Patsy Seemaster knows they can handle any situation.
First Mate Bud Browman helps keep the crew on an even keel.
Especially "Mad Eye" Swensda who loves the ratt-tat-tat of his Tommy Gun just a little to much.
Chief Engineer "Scot" Macantosh on the other hand is a cool master of his BAR, which he keeps in pristine condition.  While seamen Nyle Kadet and Freddy Wieezner are passable shots with their rifles.  All in all a good crew to have on your side in a fight as Captain Patsy can well attest.

Captain Patsy Seemaster and her crew are all 28mm metal pieces from Pulp Figures.

Massed Battery - July 3, 1863

As a prelude to the most famous attack of the War Between the States, "Pickets Charge," the massed artillery batteries (more than 140 cannon in all) of the Army of Northern Virginia bombarded the Union lines at Gettysburg.
Most of the cannon were 12 pounder smooth bore and a mixed bag of rifled artillery pieces.  The ensuing barrage was the greatest the Southern forces ever attempted.
Unfortunately the gunners largely overshot the main Union lines and the hail of shot was largely ineffective at weakening the forward infantry units.  The Rebel infantry attacked, the "High Watermark" of the Confederacy was reached as was the key turning point of the War.
The actions of the massed battery has been largely forgotten as it was over shadowed by the famous disaster of Pickets Charge.

These are 15mm metal pieces from Heritage Miniatures. I painted them in the late 1970's.

IJN Shore Party

This Imperial Japanese Navy shore party stands ready to further the divine Emperors will.
The men are armed with two Lewis light machine guns, rifles and bayonets.  The officers  carry automatic pistols and the famous katana swords.
But what are mere weapons compared to the power of  the Samurai spirit that beats within the heart of each man of the Imperial Navy.
These are all metal 28mm pieces from Pulp Figures.

Pike-Net-Steam Power Mechanical Death on the Seas

The Buccaneer, a light warjack of pirate mercenaries.
Armed with a metal mesh net to ensnare its enemies and a brutal pike to finish them off, the Buccaneer is a popular addition to any pirate band.
Teamed with the firepower of a heavy Mariner warjack, the Buccaneers speed can pin down an enemy while the Mariner pounds them.

Both are metal pieces from Privateer Press.

More Stones of Power

Throughout the forests strange stones glow with mystic power.
While most deadly under the guidance of a Stonekeeper, they are always dangerous.
These are metal pieces from Privateer Press.
