WIP Assault Legionnaires of Novum Imperium Romanum Consularis Julius Augusts XXIII

This week's Work in Progress (WIP) is a scratch build squad of Pulp Roman Legionnaires.

These are troop from the hidden city state of Novum Imperium Romanum Consularis Julius Augusts XXIII (New Roman Empire of Consul Julius Augusts XXIII )
They are armed with the latest in Roman small arms weapons technology- 4 have the Parvus Sagitta Dirigentes (Small Arrow Shooting-i.e. a Submachinegun), 2 have the Gravisbus Sagitta Dirigentis (Heavy Arrow Shooting-i.e.Assualt Rifle) 1 has a Multi Sagittam  Dirigentis (Many Arrow Shooting-i.e Light Machinegun)1 has the very deadly Constantinus Ignis Iaculator (Constantin's Fire Thrower-i.e. Flame Thrower) and the Centurion has his Electi Parvus Sagitta Dirigentes (Elite Small Arrow Shooting). For defense, their Galea (Helmet), Lorica Segmentata (Body Armor), and Scutum (Large Shield) are made of Sagitta Probationem Metallum ("Bullet Proof" Metal). They should be a nasty force to run into in my 1930's Pulp Campaign

All the pieces are plastic bashed together mostly from Warlord and Atlantic bits.

Genie and Efreet

One of the higher-ranking Genies Malak Meshar (the Hairy King) commands the Efreet al-Meharob Lakhdar (the Green Warrior) to join him in a coming battle with an evil Jinn.
With their combined strength even the most powerful Jinn should fall in combat too the combined strength of these two mystic warriors.
These are both metal pieces. The Efreet is one of my earliest paint jobs in the mid 1970's when I was testing different painting technique's. Malak Meshar was painted three or four years later (78/79) and shows a marked improvement in my opinion.

Frost Giants Like the Cold

When left alone Frost Giant Rikard den Kalde Kongen enjoys the snow and wind of his mountain homes.

But he is quick to let his wrath lash out at uninvited interlopers.
His massive and deadly two dual  headed axe makes an impression that few live to recover from. So leave the king of the cold to his mountain vastness and live to adventure again.
Rikard den Kalde Kongen is a metal piece that I painted over 45 years ago for my D&D Campaigns.

Some Plants are more Deadly than Others

Meet the newest deadly jungle threat-Sputa Petat Foraminis Flos.*

Sputa Petat Foraminis Flos, was discovered (created?) and named by the late Dr. Hyrm B. Veneatum in the Jungles of the no man's land of Southeast Asia. The plant appears dormant until its suddenly spits out spores that quickly expand and float on the wind until they contact some poor creature (like Dr. Veneatum, where they explode into a cloud of deadly gases.
These three Sputa Petat Foraminis Flos' are plastic pieces I painted in June.

Headhunter for Glory

Barbarian standard bearer, Coltafix, encourages his men to ever greater heroic feats.

Especially in the collection of the heads of enemies for the glory of the tribe.

As the old saying goes, three heads are better than one.

This is a metal piece I painted in June.
