The Assassin was a Lady

The female assassin, as deadly as her male counterpart, and less conspicuous.

After completing her deed, Ciúin Dúnmharú slips away leaving death in her wake.

Ciúin is a 25mm metal piece from the 1970's Ral Partha fantasy collection.

All That Unbelieve Shall Be Crushed Under the Wheels of the Vessel of Judgement

Crushing enemies is the main purpose of the Vessel of Judgement.

As the ruined remains of an enemy warmachine and discarded equipment attest-the Vessel is very good at what it does.

The debris of the unfaithful litter its path.

The mighty Vessel of Judgement is a monster of a warmachine in the Armies of Menoth.
Enemy warriors and warmachines are no match as the ruins of their equipment so readily shows.

This massive piece a a plastic and metal construct from Privateer Press. The ruined equipment are various pieces from several manufacturers as well as a lot of scratch build "scrap."

Finally finished! Now to see how good it is in battle with Richard's Menoth Warmachine Army.

Almost there Vessel of Judgement WIP

Plowing through the wreckage of an enemy warmachine, the Vessel marches to victory.

This is not the normal base covering for Richard's Menoth forces-I decided to show the Vessel conquering and enemy base that will slowly be turned into a Menoth style.

This massive piece is plastic and metal, the scrap pieces are also metal and plastic-more to come when she is finished.

I can Fly, I can Fly, I can Fly

Pegasus, the great winged horse of the Greeks needs no introduction.

This metal piece from Ral Partha was painted by Shelly and Me late in the last century.

Das Dampf-Panzerkampfwagen

Kommandant Hans Klink and his Dampf-Panzerkampfwagen (steam armored fighting vehicle) hire themselves out to the highest bidder in the mercenary world of the Warhammer Imperium.

Armed with a Vulcan hand cannon and steel blade, the Kommandant is ready to repel any borders that are brave enough to face his steel monster.

This all metal piece is from Games Workshop, I painted it for may Warhammer Empire Army in the late 1990's.

Some day we might be Legionaires too

Supporting the legionaires of Rome were the lighter armed and armored Auxiliary troop.  Those of exceptional skill might be able to join the regulars of the legion.

Two cohorts of the legion with Auxiliary support, ready to expand an protect the empire.
These are more of the 25mm metal Minifig pieces that I never finished as more quality pieces came on line and my interest in Ancients wained in the late 1970's.

We come for Spartacus!

Ready to crush the upstart Spartacus, two cohorts of the Roman City Guard advance towards Mt. Vesuvius.

I just watched the 1960's version of "Spartacus" and decided to trot out these old Minifig Romans that I started in the 1980's.

As you can see I never did finish them, although they did see a couple of battles-a rare event for me as I prefer to use fully painted pieces.

The detail of Minifig pieces from 1970's designs was very basic by modern standard, but they were very inexpensive allowing for good sized armies in most historic periods.
There are all 25mm metal pieces.

Spells are fine but a big axe cool too!

Druids are know for the nature spells but Wald Wache,  Druid Wilder, knows there are times when a the use of a great big axe is needed to make its mark.

As a member of the forces of Circle of Orboros, Wald Wache takes her combat duties very seriously. Only a fool would underestimate her power.
Wald Wache is a metal piece from Privateer Press.

Am I late for the Raid?

With his pot helm and long sword, Betilx is ready for a quick raid on the Romans with his Warlord chief...except he seems to have all ready left with the rest of the warriors. Oh well, better luck next time Betilx.
Betilx is a plastic 28mm piece from Warlord.

Yo, Ho, Ho and A Cleaving Blow

Unojo Polla is no stranger to hand to hand combat, he makes his living at it!

Unojo has never met a problem where his massive hand axe has been at a loss to solve.

While he prefers to take prisoners to add to his press ganged crew, he is not adverse to "trimming off" a few parts if necessary.
Unojo is a metal piece from the Warmachine Mercenary Pirates line of Privateer Press.

Willam of Normandy is My Lord

Rufus the Red is one of the knights of William Duke of Normandy. He has just heard of his Lords plan to claim his rightful place as King of England.
Armed with his battleaxe and longsword, Rufus stands ready to assist his Lord in his righteous quest, and gain a new fief in England for his service.

Rufus is a 25mm metal piece from Ral Partha, designed in the late 1970's.
